Root Which ROM has the newest version of sense?

I'm looking for a new rom and want one with a newer sense. Im thinking about the evo 3d and want a taste of the new sense. I seen a port of the HTC sensation with sense 3.0 but it was too slow and buggy. What ROM/Kernal should I flash for Gingerbread and newest version of sense?

try the KONI Elite 3 it worked for me for several days. I did notice the battery life was somewhat shorter. I was using a kernel as well. I did like the koni for sense was pretty cool. There is a link a ways down on the root page. good luck and enjoy. Make sure to read the change log because it lists what the rom is using and what it is not.

Just an FYI, there are NO ROMs currently with Sense 3.0 (which is what the 3D has). There are a couple with 2.x however, which I believe are Desire Z ports.

There's MikG and GingerSense, both have Gingerbread and the latest stable version of Sense (2.1). There's no 4G on either of those ROMs though if that's important to you.

Ok so flo is correct sense 2.1 is our latest stable, mostly functioning, they are ports obviously. There is sense 3.0 out from a sensation port it still in wip though and a lot of the 3.0 parts as I understand have been swapped with 2.1 to make it work on our phones...

So if evolution 3d is running 3.0 why don't we have it yet. Is it just to much for evo 4g

We don't even have the 2.x version of sense officially yet right? If we get that version of sense, I'd guess that that would be it as far as official sense updates go. I wouldn't think that HTC would give evo users the same sense version as their newest phone.

But, I don't know, they could do anything. They could discontinue all current phones, and then discontinue the evo 3d a month after launch for all I know.

They are working on it, it's just a beast coming from sensation, so many differences. The double shot port will help as it is also a wvga screen...I'm getting ready to flash the latest 3.0 build now actually

So between virus and koni which is more popular? Grim what I read it sounds like virus is more complete is that true?

ived been running Virus gengersense for the past 2 weeks, and its working wonders on my phone, no 4g, which i cant use anyways, and mms seems to work when it wants to but other than that its working great. oh and battery life is 10h -12h for me

Virus has the new sense 2.1, Koni's is froyo. Virus has many bugs (camera, no 4g, brightness stuck at 100%. If you are looking for stability then Koni's which has everything working. If you want a taste of the new sense then I would check out MikRoms.

oh and btw ived been running virus b2 for the past 2-3 weeks, and my brightness seems just fine lol, not stuck at all =p, and wow im downloading B3 right now, didnt kno it came out :D

█VirusROM GengerSense ReV™ █ ◄●|2 MAY|B3|●► █ [Gingerbread]●[2.3.3]●[Sense 2.1] █ - xda-developers

[ROM][ACS] Koni's ELITE Series III - (ES3 - 03/24/11) - The evolution of ELITE!!! - xda-developers

[ROM]-[MikRoms]-[4/26/2011] - MikG - Re-Engineered GB Sense 2.1 RC1 - xda-developers

Virus, MikG do not have many bugs at all. Except for the obvious screen brightness issue, both 2.1 Sense roms run great. Until HTC releases kernel source, brightness will remain a problem

So I downloaded Virus B5 last night and so far LOVE IT! Battery seems to be draining fast but i'm going to give it a few days before i try something.

Will all sense Kernals work on this ROM? Not sure if it being gingerbread or sense 2.1 changes anything

Also I only have about 100mb of free memory. Is that too low?

If you flash a different kernel than the stock kernel it will break the camera and maybe a few other things but it would help in the 100% brightness issue.

I would not recommend trying a different kernel but if you want try a sense kernel but nandroid first;)

If you didn't follow the directions for partitioning your sd card as instructed, then yes that sounds about right.

I didn't partition my sd card either and I have around 200 mb left so...........

For future reference, for people wanting to try B3 from Virus, it is not necessarily needed to partition the sd card to try the the rom. Download and flash but be warned, if you have a lot of apps, you may run out of space:eek: The rom is pretty big

yea I didn't bother with the partitioning. ANd I double checked I do have 200mb so that is fine with me! So far this ROM rocks! I'll be sticking with this for a while and just makes me want the EVO 3d even more now :D

Doesnt the camera just white screen when you flash a diff kernel? still takes pics, you are just taking them blind without a preview I think...?

I like the new stock messaging app! I want to uninstall handcent but I just wish the stock app would pop up like handcent does for new messagess!
