Root Which ROM to use

Hi all,

I'm completely new to flashing a new ROM on to my phone, I have the Moto Triumph and there are a few problems with it that I want to try and fix, since it does not look like Motorola is going to fix anything soon I was wondering if a new ROM would help. The problems that I have are these:

-Blue tooth (music) audio does not always auto connect to my car stereo. I can usually only get to to auto connect a few times before the phone will no longer reconnect and I have to reboot the phone.

- WiFi will sometimes not connect or reconnect to my home router and I have to reboot the phone to fix

-music volume will change drastically after I take a phone call. I will be going along with music at the right volume, then a call comes in and after I hang up the music will resume but at a different (lower) volume

- I would like to have wifi tethering.

If any of you could suggest a ROM that addresses these issues I would greatly appreciate it, thanks.

I would suggest Whyzor's CM7 reloaded. It's still being actively developed and has most stuff worked out well.
 
It's a personal preference. My vote goes to Froyocream Sandwich. It's 2.2 but with a zing. Everything works just like in stock.
 
Stock based roms (froyocream and others) have working hdmi out, cm7 based roms (cm7-reloaded and more) don't. that's the main difference. Other than that it's kinda just up to you and what you like.
 
So I am a complete newb to this as well, I was planning on upgrading to the CM7 TG Reloaded but I had a few questions.

Do I need to do anything special once I flash the new rom to get it working on my virgin mobile number again?

I see that it says they can't provide the market for legal reasons, so I should just search around for the apk for that I assume?

No need to do anything special. Gapps is in the OP for cm7-reloaded.

I like this ROM, I'm gonna use this for awhile me thinks. I haven't pulled my phone off the charger since flashing but I'm thinking this will be a bit more power efficient right?

I personally think it is because of the dark colors. I'm gonna update it tomorrow to include some tweaks from that build.prop thread. And might even change the statusbar to transparent if you think that would look good :D

Definitely! I think transparency would add to the general theme of things. Thanks for the heads up I've been looking for a new ROM for awhile.

Awesome! Will mess with that soon. And no problem, it wasn't very noticed when it was released... hopefully that will change

I'm sure it will, I would have used it sooner if I could have found it. Hey, quick question, do you ever take requests for boot images? Or could you point me in the right direction of where I could make my own?

You could use paint.net copy one of their logos and customize it yourself if you want (make sure it's 480x800). Or if you just want a plain logo I could do it for you in a couple minutes. I have nothing to do right now anyways.
