A mod can take 1 from sense and add 1 to aosp, but that will not reflect as your vote. Your vote will still show as whatever originally voted

Dont worry about it, I asked them to do it on the UK users download speeds thread.

Just report your post and request it ;)

adamg has tweeted that oxygen 2.2 will be out this weekend.
thats 4 updates in less than 2 months

I don't think 2.3.5 is very different for the Desire, which lacks an NFC chip.

(I'm actually running it tonight, as it's just appeared in CM7 nightlies).

@DNick: yes, there's CDMA and GSM builds of Oxygen.

I know there are CDMA builds of Oxygen, my question is more does he release both builds at the same time. Or am I going to have to wait for the CDMA version to be released a little later.

That I can't answer, as I don't follow Oxygen that closely. I've not noticed a lag between them myself, but no promises. Doubt it will be long though.

There does seem to be a trend for ROMs to get bigger - CM7 no longer fits the original CM7 table (*), Oxygen first outgrows the Oxygen table, then the Oxygen r2 table...

(*) Though I'm sure that CM7 would still fit the original CM7 table if they didn't include 3 themes, each about 3.5 MB, as part of the ROM.

I haven't updated yet, but I see that the new ROM is larger than the v2.1.6. This means it will no longer fit in the Oxygen r2 table!

So, either flash CM7 r2 table or make a custom MTD, or try the the new r3 table made by Hboot patcher.

We do get Android v2.3.5. :)

yes they are growing. in hindsight i am happy that i have not disturbed my sense 250mb table. I think it will come in useful for icecream sandwich :-)

Thing is, I think it's the ROMs that are growing rather than android. I'm running CM7 nightly 150 (Android 2.3.5) using 87.7 MB of /system, after themes/media/apps that I don't need or already have as user apps (better for me, as I can move them between ROMs). That's about the same that the earlier android 2.3.3 and 2.3.4 versions of CM7 used with similar edits. So if Oxygen 2.2 is bigger than 2.16 - and I can see that the zip is ~10 MB larger - then that's because Adam has put more stuff in it.

ICS - who knows? But if necessary it's only a few minutes' work to repartition :)

Why lose or waste space in the distant and vague hope that you will have enough space for an unreleased operating system to fit in.

Eh, seems like Alpharev Hboot sizes are not enough for every needs (although, most likely they will update the tables soon). Custom all the way?

Actually I would have done if forced to. But sdext and dalvik to sd have ensured that my /data just keeps hovering around 40mb. And I cant make out any change in performance.

I have been using InsertCoin (CM7) for a couple of weeks now. Like it a lot, but I find myself looking at Oxygen quite a lot lately...

(Edit):
And now I run Oxygen 2.2.1 on Alpharev HBoot Oxygen R2, no EXT4. Even better than IC for my needs.

Been using CM7 for quite some time. so far I've been very happy with it. Only down side is the problems with MMS.
