Root Which roms for changing status bar?

Pretty sure I read somewhere that Miui directly allows you to make changes to the status bar. I did not have much luck on MIUI, so I reverted back to Revolution. Do roms allow you to directly edit the status bar, or do I have to flash themes?

You'd have to flash theme's. I know cm7 allows you to make a few changes to it. Depends what you call changes really.
