Accessories Which screen protector do you have?

i have a clarivue static cling. goes over the buttons but doesn't cover up the cam or sensors. i sorta wanna try a Siedio, Boxwave AND Steinheil when it releases, but then i'd just be wasting money. esp since the clarivue is on almost perfectly. i may just get a Steinheil, though. we'll see.

Stealth Guards

I got 2 full body kits for something like $13 shipped. This was the first time I've installed anything like this so it took a bit to get the side pieces on, but I have to say that this is great for the value. I really can't imagine what a "better" more expensive protector would offer that this doesn't.

I installed one on the screen and its still hazy after 3 days. Big disappointment.

Just put on full body matte from phantom skinz. Great coverage and good feel on the body, I will probably switch to something clear for the screen though

I'm using a stealth guard. The cut is not an exact fitment, theres about 1mm space all around. On the flipside this made it pretty easy to apply.

Is there a screen protector out there that is an EXACT fitment?

Received my Seidio Ultimate Screen Guard today and put it on already.
Very easy to install... no bubbles.. can't even tell it's there. Looks and feels just like the glass of the screen. The touchscreen sensitivity isn't affected either. It covers everything on the front (buttons and camera and everything) and the space it covers is almost perfectly cut to size.

Can you confirm that you bought the crystal and not the anti-glare?

I agree. I bought the matte as well. It definitely does the job, but the matte finish really takes away from the clarity of the screen. I will be replacing the piece on the screen as soon as I get a replacement.

Just put on the Boxwave Crystal Clear. It is perfect. Crystal clear, can not tell it is on, screen feels exactly the same and there are cut outs for the light sensor and camera.

I am a big fan of Boxwave and use them for almost everything.

I realized te the matte kit that I purchased from phantom skinz also came with two clear screen protectors. I put the clear on and it is MUCH better!

out of all the brands, which screen protector works best in terms of feeling the actual glass of the screen? i want to touch the screen and feel the actual glass......

does the boxwave attach via static (like the seidio crystal) or did you apply it wet (more like the phantom)?

so sounds like the boxwave crystal and seidio crystal are very similar. anyone know if the seidio has cutouts for the sensors/camera like the boxwave?

The Boxwave feels exactly like the glass.

And it's not that bad when it comes to fingerprints also.

Bing has 8% cash back on ebay right now if you pay through paypal.

Go to www.bing.com and type in "macbook". One of the top links will be a link to macbooks on ebay with 8% cash back. Click on that link and it will take you to ebay. Then search for HTC Evo cases. You have to use the "buy it now" price to get the 8%. I use this all the time to get a discount. :)

Edit: Oops posted in wrong thread. Sorry!

looked at the seidio site and it claims to cover the front camera and sensors. as much as it seems like these should be left uncovered, it occurs to me that opens in the protector like that would be prone to dust build-up. are you finding that is a problem at all with the boxwave?

I have ScreenGuardz from HTCpedia website. It's not the best but it will hold me over till Steinheil finally get the EVO sp.

About one day since i have had the boxwave on and no dust at all. I also have the Innocase on so the two work great together.

I'll do a mini-review since some, like me, like a bit more in depth review...

I have the Clarivue crystal clear. I like it, cut out is pretty dead on IMO, doesn't cover the front camera or the sensor. Feels smooth and responsive, good enough for me at least. I've gotten use to it and, I don't notice too much of difference compared to my friend's naked Evo. I was able to install it at Radio Shack as soon as the stock protector was removed, so the screen is a complete virgin, and the process was flawless, no reapplying, orange peeling or air bubbles. No real distortion or blurriness in image quality either. Some people I've shown the phone to have commented, I should get a screen protector, to which, I point to the small border near the top by the speaker grill. Only downfall of course is fingerprints which you only really notice when tilted in the light, and never a problem as soon as you turn on the screen.

Needless to say I'd recommend it, I was planning on using this as a interim protector until Steinheil released theirs but, now I doubt I will switch out unless it's starts peeling for whatever reason.

I never use that stretchy/tacky/watery Zagg shields. Static-adhesive shields all the way for me.

Waiting for a anti-glare protector from SGP to be released. I have a very oily face so the anti-glare protector helps with less smudges, and it makes gliding a whole lot easier.

Clarivue has the ugly/annoying cutouts for the sensors, and Boxwave is just overly priced.

from the pictures on boxwave's site, it appears theirs have the cutouts as well. so, the only one that covers up the sensor and front cam, and that is static cling, would be Seidio.

i'm still awaiting steinheil before i switch out the one i got from clarivue that's meant to be temp. clarivue cut's theirs a little smaller so it doesn't cover the entire screen from left to right. with a feather case on, or something similar, that just covers up the back and sides i'll def want a screen protector that covers the entire surface so it doesn't look tacky.

Good to hear... Hoping mine arrives soon.

I had a Radio Shack screen protector and today one of the sides was letting air bubbles in, so I took it off. Being that the screen is highly scratch resistant, I think I can manage without a screen protector until I decide which one to replace it with. May try the Seido one.

On a side but somewhat related note. Being that the buttons on the bottom are flush and one can't really feel which one is being pressed without actually looking at the device, now don't laugh, but I'm thinking of using a hole puncher to cut out the holes for the buttons on the protector. :D

I put the Seidio crystal clear on my EVO last night. Overall I like it but it is a bit thinner than I would like. I imagine the Boxwave being like a piece of Lexan compared to this. Because it's a touch thinner it tends to go on with some bubbles unless you are very careful about applying pressure to the protector as you apply it to the phone. In comparison a Power Support protector I had for my iPhone would lie down on the screen with absolutely no bubbles at all, but that's a minor nit and it's a very good protector overall.

Positives:

1.Very clear with no visible distortion or rainbow appearance.
2.Excellent fit on the screen
3.Smooth texture

Negatives:

1.Thinner than I would like.

Unknown:

1.The jury is out on the durability of it, we'll see in a few weeks what it looks like.
