which "tablet"?

archos70

Lurker
Hi guys,
I have been following Archos' new line of "tablets" since they were announced and now I have a dillema.
I am torn between the Archos 43 and the Archos 70 (i wouldnt go as far as the Archos 10 because thats where laptops and notebooks come in..)
I would use it for working between uni lectures.. (are there any word based/like apps on google marketplace? I know I would have to hack to get marketplace). I have also started using my iPod for browsing the web casually rather than my desktop but now I need a bigger screen as the touch is too small. the cameras of the 43 and 70 dont really bother me as I only really use the webcam for calling my parents on skype..(is that possible on both devices?)
Also, looking at price, I would rather pay that little bit more for the bigger screen but smaller memory because of sd cards as apposed to the smaller screen and 16GB memory...
What do you guys think? and what will you be getting?
Thanks in advance
Marc

I just purchased a 7 inch archos tablet. the best buy sales guy said it could do skype and I got home and found nothing. not obvious anyway. Don't know anything about android but need to learn... Does froyo run on archos? There seems to be a version of skype that works on Froyo, i think... could use some help on that one too

the archos line will be getting updated to froyo this month sometime from what i've heard. everything should work alot better then, not sure about skype but fring is another video chat app you may want to look into but i'm not sure of its features compared to skype.

Just download the google apps apk and install it. Then you can download skype from the market. Not hard to do.

Did you buy the old Archos 7 at Best Buy or the new A70? As far as I know the only way to get the new one is Archos's website and they only had them for a couple of hours, I haven't heard of any Best Buy's carrying them.

Well seeing that your screen name is already "Archos70" I'm going go out on a limb and say you should go with the...

"Galaxy Tab"... :D

To add to the Confusion, some Archos 7 reviews have just recently come out and getting mixed with the Archos 70.
