I went to the verizon store told them wat i wanted gave them the part numbers

They ordered them and i will have them in a couple of days
they both r 24.99 but there was a fatory discount so i got them both for a little under 40

Verizon didn't ship my white back to the correct address, so its delivered, but now I have to wait till I get home . . .

I can't take credit for the original idea . . . I moded this case for my extended battery cover . . . I'll gladly take credit for merging the two though!!!

Yes it does, it's in the corner of the bend. I have the same red cover but got mine from China.

Can you look at the 3.5 headset jack and tell me if the red or white one or both have the little metal ring in the top like the factory black one?

I forget which one it was but there was a thread in the accessories on this. Some say they ran out quickly. Mine looks just like the one pictured here.

The Red one above did come from VZW, the part number was given as well. It looks just like the one I got from China so I was asking the poster if the 3.5 metal ring was in the Red one cause mine was not. Also I have a little trouble with the Touch Pro 2 battery and the cover not snapping down all the way around like it does with the red stock battery. The Red battery acts like the black cover with the Touch Pro 2 battery installed... a little snug. It also sticks up more around the power button making it a little difficult to push the power button down sometimes.

Both my white & red covers have the metal ring around the headphone jack, identical to the original cover.
The white one feels a little more flimsy (just like the red one) but fits more snuggly (like the original).

If you are referring to the "25% off accessory" corporate discount, then yes, I paid $18 something plus tax (retail is $24.99).
Kinda difficult to answer, considering it's a matter of opinion, perspective/experience, etc . . .
Personally I don't have any issues with the original cover, other than its sometimes difficult to remove & I feel like I'm going to break something. I do not have the same experience with the red or white . . .
My original one is quiet, where the red one creaks. The white one is somewhere in the middle, but more like MY original one in that regard . . .
The original seems to be made of a heavier polymer plastic, but the red & white both are lighter and flimsier . . .
I like the finish on the original, but my red & white ones are extremely smooth/slick, when compared to the original (this just takes some getting used to) . . .
I don't feel like I've really answered your question, but I hope this helps some
