I've always purchased the white version of the phone (S2, S3, Note 2) but this time I got the black one. I already pre ordered mine from Verizon. Can't wait :D

Ended up taking a 32GB Black Mist :D lol

I said somewhere before that I was planning on sticking the white battery cover on a Black Mist S4, but after I saw and held a demo S4 today I think I'll leave it - the back of the black mist S4 looks nothing like the pictures, it's basically chrome with a black mesh pattern over it, never seen anything like it, quite nice. The front isn't like this though, and does match the photos, which is good.

Was just going to say this, surprised me how different it is to all the renders and shots I'd seen before getting it. With that in mind I think the Black Mist is a clear cut above the White.

Have to agree with you guys, I was also gob smacked when I saw the Black Mist in store, I went straight for it, used it for 15mins or so while waiting for them to check what colours they had in the store room, I then used the white for a good 2mins and went back to Black, the lady came back to tell me they have both colors, told her to bring black, glad I did.

I got the white one. I've had the HTC Hero, Evo3d then the EVO LTE. They all came in black so I really changed it up with this one! No regrets so far.

White, by far.

I just went to BestBuy to check out the phone since I am on Verizon and wanted to compare the colors.

Originally, I had preordered the black because a few reviews said that it looked nice or even nicer than the white model.

However, when in the store the white looks quite a bit nicer. One of the reasons a lot of people get black is because they feel it makes the screen colors "pop" more or are more vivid. This may be true--but the black versions face has that glittery textured look.

Because the black version has this look and its much more noticeable than the white it is actually distracting and takes away from the screen. Especially in bright light or in the sun it would be even more distracting.

The white version also has a similar textured diamond face but it is much less noticeably glittery / shiny reflective front and back and looks better overall. This diamond pattern actually gives the white version a nice pearly look on the back and is not distracting from the front. The white model also seems to "stand out" more from the crowd and doesn't seem like just another black phone.

As such, I called Verizon and had them switch my preorder from black to white.

Can't wait!

I love the black mist but in all fairness, it isn't black. Not tried the white but glad I went with the mist, when outside in sunlight, it has a shiny metallic like appearance which is pretty cool.

I like the black better the white looks like an S3 and I already have one of those in white.

Black Mist for me, and I will put it in a Urban Armour Gear (UAG) Aero Composite Armor Shell Case / Bumper. Kind of dark grey and blue.

I actually planned on getting the white, but switched the black and am glad I did.
I personally think the white would distract me when watching videos. The black just blends in better with the screen imo. I also like the grey/black back cover so ordered a clear case for the phone so its not covered.

I had the white gs3 because I really did not like the blue, and those were the only colors at launch. Thankfully they offered black in the s4 so I definitely went got it. The white isn't bad but after owning it for a while I can definitely say I prefer the black

I heard a lot of negative opinions about the black, saying that the pattern was chincy and lame. I saw the black one and didn't think that at all. I thought the pattern gave it a cool metallic look. However the white just looked classy, so I was torn on which to get. When I went to the AT&T store, they were out of the black model, so that made my decision for me.
