Whitney Houston Dead

A tragic cautionary tale that will go ignored as it has in the past (Amy Winehouse, Kurt Colbain, Keith Moon, Jimi Hendricks, Janis Joplin, etc.). Celebrity brings big fame, big money and big excess. Tragic not because of her celebrity but because it's always tragic when one dies so young and for so little purpose. Are you listening Lindsey Lohan?

Don't forget Heath Ledger, River Phoenix, and ... wait for it ...

ELVIS!

She was popular in the 80's early 90's.

a song she was very well known for

I Will Always Love You - YouTube

Now I've heard that before, from a movie wasn't it? Thing is, I've sort of ignored pop music since I left school in 1979. I liked Michael Jackson though. Don't have a clue about what's going on now with western pop music, apart from Justin Bieber and Lady Gaga, They're huge in China especially at KTVs(karaoke bars).

Who? What? When? How? "why didn't someone tell me about this."

I guess I need to spend more time in the real world. "We are saddened by the news of the passing of the late Whitney Houston;" 'Our condolences go out to the family and friends.' - Rush Lindsay.

I'm showing my age again. :o I just assumed that everybody would know the name because of "the voice" - she had a phenomenal range and clarity in her heyday. It's always sad to lose a great talent. Sobering too.... I'll be that age in six weeks.

Sorry mariah voice puts Whitney to shame.

Yes, its from The Bodyguard.

It is a shame that she went down a path of destruction. May she rest in peace and I hope the vultures of the media world will leave her daughter alone.

Such shame . I agree with several of the other post , Bobby Brown was the beginning of the end for her . OH, what a beautiful voice she had .

I wasn't a HUGE fan of her music but it's certainly sad to see such talent gone so soon. Unlike the news programs, that dedicated half their shows to talking about her, I thought the Grammy's were very tastefully done when it came to remembering her. I wasn't sure what they would do as a tribute, but I don't think they could have made a better choice of performer to sing it (Jennifer Hudson).
