Who else can't wait to get one of these?

Yep tried the Wacom Bamboo Feel last night and am returning today. With no way to calibrate, it was offset by about 1/4 inch.
I may just stick with the S-pen

Yeah, I remember a user from XDA called Wacom about compatibility with the Note 2. Apparently it will only work with the specific devices listed on their compatibility list (for the Note line, only the original Note and Note 10.1 are supported). I think it would have been a very nice replacement pen provided it was compatible with the entire Note line.

Oh well, back to the drawing board. ;)

Okay, I'm hesitating, but I really feel like I should go get the Note 8.0 tonight. Amazon has it $20 cheaper and I know Best Buy will price match. The Note 10.1's are on sale too.

Next weekend is Memorial day, so part of me feels like there'll be some sort of sale that will be even better. Additionally, if they offer different colors (and possibly/hopefully a 32gb version) next month, I know I'll be kicking myself for jumping the gun!

Well, at least those of you that have been waiting for some slight price drop, you can swoop one up now through Amazon at the sale price.

Let me know drex if you end up purchasing one. Mine has been randomly rebooting and losing wifi. So guess what...I returned it today. I know I know let the laughing begin. :-) but now I have 2 cases going to waste, happy to send them to anyone who wants them.
I think there is something telling me that this tablet is not for me. I bought the first one, returned because of buyer's remorse, bought again and had light bleed, returned it, then was gifted the third unit, random reboots and wi-fi drop, returned.
That's it, given it 3 tries. Struck out.
Still have my S3 and my Note 10.1 and am really happy with them both.

I'm still somewhat considering the 10.1. That is on sale for 479.99. Only thing preventing me from getting the 10.1 is size and 30 pin charger (Note 8 works with the smart dock I already own). I did the measurements on the 10.1 and it is just too big for the area that it will be mounted.

My hesitation right now is more with regards to other colors releasing in June. it's a gamble, but I am going to wait until Memorial Day weekend. Hopefully one of the retailers will have an even better sale and worse case, Amazon keeps price low until next weekend.

CrockettGTO: ...and live to tell the tale. I would have expected your better half would have clubbed you. LOL.

Drex: the 8.0 will suit you better. I played stupid and forgot the Smart Dock uses the 11-pin connector. Which uses a different connector than a 5-pin one. Also can't find a 11-pin female to 5-pin male adapter. So another failed experiment. Not great with electrical stuff so not going to attempt to make my own.

Tell me about it NeoGrandizer, but my lady is awesome!

Drex: You should give the Note 8 a whirl. I know I did, three times.. :banghead:

I find this completely odd. Unless I missed something, doesn't the 1024 levels of pressure sensitivity extend across the entire note line?

How can the Note 2 & 8 NOT be compatible?

Ugh... I'm waiting. Samsung Experience Rep seems to think they are eventually going to release a 32GB

I'm not holding my breathe, but I still have one month until one of my Certificates expire. Too bad the Note 10.1 is too big for my car. If it were the time I got my Note 2, I'd had jumped on a 479.99 deal

I found it odd too, but as CrockettGTO has demonstrated, the Feel has calibration issues with the 8.0. Which is what I will also expect to happen with the Note 2. The Surface Pro pen I have (for some reason) worked better on the 10.1 than the Note 2. So something working in the background (either hardware and/or software) is slightly different or tweaked. I have no clue what though and just as puzzled as you.

Geez drex, I would be bald now from all the hair pulling! As ScandalEx stated earlier, being in your head would be too traumatizing... LOL.

Seriously...lol. Only time I am not like this is when there is definitive info. Samsung has been so passive about offering the 32gb version that it's been holding me back from my standard buy now, ask questions later standards... Hahaha.

I blame Samsung!

F it. Decided to scrap the waiting. Open box deal too good to pass up. Addutional 10% off price listed. There just happened to be one at a Best Buy a little further from my house (only 15 miles as supposed to others only 7 miles away).

Out of pocket costs after certificates, discounts and for cards, $34 and change. I'll take it. Better believe I'll be putting this thing through the paces tonight after full charge and hard reset.

This particular Samsung Experience location seemed convinced no 32 to be released. Guy was kinda pompous about it too, which drove me to get this open box one now.

Well done Drex. Wonder if you got one of my returned units :-).

Correct NeoGrandizer. The Bamboo Feel would register a line on screen about 1/4 to 1/3 inches away from the tip. I tried writing at different angles, speeds and palm off screen and resting on screen. It was not only off, it also didn't write as fast as the S-pen. It was like there was a longer delay when moving the stylus across the screen, the quicker I wrote the greater the lag it seemed. Kind of a bummer because it did feel really nice in hand. Solid with a good balance. It also was the perfect diameter for my hands and writing style.

Just spent a good 30 minutes trying to re-route my car setup. Pretty much done. I'll take pics tomorrow.
Was just gonna say pics or it didn't happen!!!!!!
No hurry though..... I'm still picking my jaw up from the floor that you FINALLY made a decision. :D

LOL...lots of things had to fall in line for me to have made that decision today:

1) Lower price on Amazon $379.99 (currently) prompted the urgency
2) Best Buy fairly close by having an Open Box Note 8.0 for $27 less than $399.99 brand new price.
3) Best Buy having an additional 10% off deal going on today and tomorrow only, for all open box items. I ended up saving around $45.
4) Best Buy giving 2X's points for every purchase in store
5) Samsung Experience guy being pretty pompous, saying that they're definitely not releasing a 32gb version, and basically acting like there's no reason for Samsung to release a 32gb version because of the microSD slot...(Although, shortly after he gave up that reason, I pretty much blasted him in saying that apps are getting extremely large now and also, there's no way to move those apps to the SD without rooting...I didn't even go into the fact that there's only 9.5gb available, of the 16).
6) Once I sell the International Note 2, I'll have extra cash, in case anything "new" is announced in 32gb form and/or different colors. At that point, I can just buy an International version that has 3G radios and once I have that, just sell my wifi only version I purchased from Best Buy.

This may seem like a lot of thinking, but I wanted to be logical about my decision.

That said, here's a pic to prove purchase :D

It's still charging (there was practically no juice in this thing). Sad part of all of this is that, the person that purchased didn't put all the information back in the box, so I may not get my extra Google play gift and I don't have any manuals...No big deal for me though. As I said before, getting a good price was more important than all the "freebies."

Well, that was kinda short lived. Got it charged and went to check some things out and one of the first things I wanted to see was potential light leakage. At first, I didn't notice any, but I went to YouTube and you could see it on the sides and bottom in certain spots.

Guess I am going to best buy tomorrow to either get an exchange or return...lol.

Really Drex, I can't keep up with you lol. I was so sure that you were going to hold out for the elusive 32gb.

Its a real pain in the bottom that your unit has light bleed, hopefully your replacement will be in perfect condition. Keep us updated

Strike one. Ouch.

Hopefully, you can get it exchanged for a better unit. Is it me, or does it seem like QA on this product seems a bit flaky. Oh well, best of luck drex.

NB: we can blame CrockettGTO for this one. LOL. j/k. :D

I didn't even pay attention when I first booted up, but it's extremely apparent on the first boot-up screen.

On top of that, it looks like it has dead pixels. At first, I thought it was a fingerprint, but after wiping that area, it was still there.

Yeah, I hope Best Buy is good with exchange on Open Box items. I just hope this isn't the case with any of the Note 8.0's. The size is perfect for my car and I already knew that it was perfect for my work.

Just to be sure that I'm not seeing things, can you guys verify that I'm not imagining this:

At the center of the pic, above Samsung Galaxy Note 8.0, you can see the area that I thought was a fingerprint initially, but it's dead pixels. The light leakage on the sides, not sure you can get anymore obvious.
