Im using the Eris on Cricket, fully flashed with text, calls, WAP, and picmail...If I install the update is this going to mess up my flash??? Also I keep getting reminders for system update...If this is going to mess up my flash how can I get rid of the reminders???

BTW my phone is one of the dreaded hboot-1.49.0000 and s-on

I don't know what's involved in "converting" settings and what-not to Cricket, but I suspect it will reset everything back to VZW's settings.

That's no longer an issue. Someone correct me if I'm wrong -- I'm already rooted so I don't pay 100% attention -- but I thought root methods for ALL Eris setups was now available.

I got the update notification last night, it tried to install and said it failed. Now it's gone. How can I get it back?

The calculator is 100% gray scale (black and white) now (even the button glow when you press it. I liked it more before the OTA. There doesn't seem to be an option to change it either. :(

Lots of free ones in Market, some quite fancy and configurable as to color, etc.

Yeah, I know. I actually use several different calculators, depending on the task.

UPDATE: I just noticed that my wife's Eris calculator is the same as mine and she doesn't have the OTA yet. Maybe it was a 2.1 feature. I could have sworn the keys glowed orange before the OTA, though.

Got my update this morning when I woke up (6 am, for those time-framimg this kinda stuff...:))

Looks like it finally made it to Cypress, TX, just outside Houston.

i just realized i probably wont get the update cuz i'm getting the incredible tomorrow. so vzw's system thinks i have it already but havent activated it. oh well. no biggie. the dinc got a really nice update a few days ago. so that will probably pop up after i activate it

I sincerely hope the update fixes the silent call bug for you guys. I won't be getting it because I received my Droid-X yesterday. The Eris was great to me for a long time and everyone on this forum has been awesome.

to tell the truth, I hardly ever use the calculator but didn't it used to give you the option for a more advanced scientific one when you hit the menu key? If so, it's not there anymore, did that option go away with the 2.1 update or just now with this latest update? or am i mistaken about it being there altogether?

It goes scientific in landscape mode.

The 50% without signal bug is now gone but it's been replaced by a much more insidious variant that is very quickly draining my battery and currently shows 64% without signal, and increasing!

I've rebooted 3 times and it didn't help. For the sake of experiment, I haven't tried the Airplane Mode trick. I want to see where this goes by default. At this rate, everyone's going to have worse battery problems than ever!

Is anyone else having worsened signal issues after the OTA?

Do you have the link to the solution??
