Who got the update??

I got the update notification last night, it tried to install and said it failed. Now it's gone. How can I get it back?

I think you can go to Settings>About phone>System updates.
Im trying to avoid the update since my phone is flashed, but I get reminders every once in a while anyone know how to get rid of the reminders??

The 50% without signal bug is now gone but it's been replaced by a much more insidious variant that is very quickly draining my battery and currently shows 64% without signal, and increasing!

I've rebooted 3 times and it didn't help. For the sake of experiment, I haven't tried the Airplane Mode trick. I want to see where this goes by default. At this rate, everyone's going to have worse battery problems than ever!

Is anyone else having worsened signal issues after the OTA?

You should do a factory reset.

Both of our phones on leak 3 got it this morning. I do notice the dialer lag is much improved. I have never concerned myself with the 50% bug so I couldn't tell you if that is fixed or not. Neither phone had silent call issues before either.

I got the update this morning. But I spent 2 days in a different state so I am not sure when they tried to push it to me.

The dial lag is much better, even with a million apps running in the background. I have been hassled with the silent call bug. I have been on the phone all day and no issue yet. So we have to wait and see on the call thing.

Also, I did notice that my phone now has a slide out keyboard. I think this OTA turned my eris into a droid.

Great.

I woke up this morning turned my phone on and there it was installed the update did my factory reset. I then reinstalled all my apps and everything seems fine. Lets hope it stays that way.:D:D:D:D:D

You should do a factory reset.

I think that's what I'll do. It worked so well to do a factory reset after the 2.1 update.

By the way, the Airplane Mode did fix the time without signal bug (temporarily) but my battery's screaming to be put on the charger. It's almost out of juice and I've done very little with it today other than the posts above. We'll see what a factory reset does for it...

I'm done with stock updates ever since I rooted. I'm overclocked to 748Mhz and I won't go back to stock 528Mhz. The Eris is a completely different phone when overclocked. It's actually pleasant to use. I'll wait until I can get a plain jane or Ivan's ROM with this new update included. Hurry up devs and get us a new Sense root ROM with this update pretty please!!! ;)

Should I do a factory reset after this update? I know it's only a minor update, but it worked well after the 2.1 OTA. I'm just curious as to what you guys think.

I did. I'm working on getting my apps and settings back to where they were. It's too early to know whether it was a good move or not. Time will tell. I figured it couldn't hurt.

My wife's 2nd eris has been bug free for a while so I am kind of leary to install. Hopefully this fixes the silent call bug that we had on her last eris.

I did a factory reset after the OTA and it actually cured the 50% without signal bug! I highly recommend it!

woke up this morning and had it ...installed no problem..I had the 50% error. Got rid of the error and will see if it comes back. No silent phone problems yet. Lets hope

Has anyone heard of this? Can't seem to find anything online that
*#*#checkin#*#* works. Plus, wouldn't it just become *#*#2432546#*#* ?

It does work. That's how I got the 2.1 update. I got this particular update by going into the Android Market, which has a way of checking in as well to see if there are updates available for apps. Apparently, it checks for available OTA's while it's at it.

But how do you even type checkin, without it turning to numbers?

I typed it in as though I were dialing and i got a notification saying " checkin result" but then nothing after that. Still no update. :(
