Help Why are so many apps running all the sudden?

I have Go Launcher and when I check Running programs usually it's only a few, but lately in the past couple days it's literally been like all of my apps are open and I don't know why. Any idea why? I know I didn't open them.

Also.......when I go to the Android market website on my computer to download apps, it says it will download to my device shortly but it never does. It used to, and now all the sudden it won't. I have to go to the market on my phone and find the app to download now.

certain app have to be running thats just the way linux os run, but other apps like power amp market and mail, you have to kill them manually, it want kill itself when you back out of the app. on my phone it does the same, but i doesnt effect my phone in anyway, still the same fast speed and all.

Android doesn't kill apps until memory is needed, otherwise it just deprioritizes their usage. You may see apps that are listed as running, but not actually doing anything. I would suggest reading this article and see what you think afterwards.

Also check how much memory they may be using, I've noticed at times a app may be listed as running but isnt using any or lil memory.

oh and if you really want to see whats running, if your phone is rooted, has terminal emulator installed, and superuser, open it up and type, su, allow, ps -x and look at what all is really running lol. there another cmd that will be more readable but I dont remember it atm tho.
