Accessories Why can't we get this for the EVO?

Cmon HTC...don't you think that we EVO owners might like this functionality? I know I would. Then I could hook up my EVO to the rear entertainment system in the wife's van so the kids could watch TV on those long road trips.

If it can be done for the Incredible...why can't HTC create something for the EVO? This cable is exactly what a good number of us want for the EVO.

Right?

HTC Droid Incredible TV-Out Cable is Now Available

Just sayin'

Yeah I did that with my old 2G iphone. It's possible to do it with ours. You just have to plug your hdmi into something to convert the signal and then go analog cable(RCA/s-video) out.

HDMI to Composite or S-Video Scaler

There you go. Converts the signal. Just mount it in your vehicle and plug your phone and tvs into it.

Thank you for the replies...but would rather not spend $269. I think folks misinterpreted my post.

The simple cable for an HTC product allows whatever is being displayed on the phone to go out to a tv, portable LCD, or vehicle entertainment system. The existing HDMI cable that we have will NOT do those things, and will NOT even display my slingbox out to an HDMI monitor.

I was stating that if they can do it for the incredible (HTC device) then why were we left out? It's not like it's a motorola device and I am begging HTC to follow suit. This is HTC product functionality that would be GREAT for the HTC EVO.

Again...just sayin'

unless there is some hardware change that prevents it. If there is specific software that allows it, rooting could easily take care of it.

from their (HTC) add;

Please note: This will NOT work for any other micro-USB HTC phones, it will only work for HTC Droid Incredible.:(

if you were to ask the devs over at XDA i am sure they may be able to look at it....if it's a simple software issue to use the port as a video out port, it may be easy for them....otherwise, buy a converter for the HDMI to analog...ya it's pricey at first, but think of all the fun your kids will have and how much more quiet they will be....

XDA Devs are working on a full HDMI out where everything on your screen will show up on the tv. That was one of my favorite things about my TP2...
