Please think back to your original, very first reason for coming to www.androidforums.com, not the reason(s) you joined once you decided to do that (put your reason(s) for joining in a post, please ;)).
 
Got interested in Android last year. Kept abreast with a lot of the Android blogs, one of them was Phandroid. I saw that Phandroid had a forum, surfed the place to see how people's exeriences with Android were and found it interesting and people cool :D Joined a whole bunch of forums but I found AF the best!
 
I'd been in the Samsung Instinct forums with questions and, later, help for others, and it did have the appearance of a sort of community.. it seemed interesting to me that a community could develop centered around talking about a cell phone. :D

When it came time to move to the Eris, I googled "eris forums" and saw several and joined three of them.

This is the one that stayed in my Firefox bookmarks: it's the best, plain and simple.. for me, in my opinion, etc. ;)
 
I wanted to learn about not just Android but all smartphones. I was coming from a dumbphone and my last smartphone was a WM 6.1 device so I was a bit out of the loop. I joined a BlackBerry and Palm forum as well. I had signed up for Android Forums as well as other Android forums but this place was by far the best community in my opinion and had the most to offer me.

At those other forums, as you left, did you turn and say, "Ieeel be bock?"
 
I had just gotten an Android smartphone, and I was mostly just looking to learn more about it, and the opperating system overall.
 
I joined because I was originally looking for a suitable droid to accompany me on my X-Wing.
 
Came here 'cause SlateDroid was down...........again! I like it here & will probably be a regular now. Even when SlateDroid gets it's server situation worked out.

First came here for the Droid Incredible and now am sticking with it because of the Droid X.
 
I had a Dare and used to go to Mobile Roar to learn how to customize it (ha!) That forum was owned by... guess who? Around the time Verizon announced that it would be getting an android phone, Phases made a post in the Dare section about it because many of us were thinking about making the switch. Some of us took a look to see what we were in store for and a few of us stayed.
 
I was reading up on android just like IOWA said but was waiting to get my device due to upgrade eligibility and also because I was reading up on enabling root access. :D
 
Fell in love with the GSM Hero when I first saw it. Started researching it and came across this site.

Didn't end up joining until after I got my CDMA Hero and was looking for a case. I joined the site to see the pictures in the review (been here since... they won't let me leave:p).
 
Giving my age away but recently retired and got my first smartphone. Now I just have to prove I'm smarter than it is and looking to the forums for help.
The forums are great and users very helpful and friendly but on a rare occasion if it gets ugly I just hit the back button.
