Help Why does my SG2's GPS suck!?

appapapa

Lurker
I've been searching around for a fix to this for some time now but no solutions have worked.

When I first got my SG2 the GPS would connect within seconds but now it can take 5, 10, 15 minutes to connect and sometimes it won't connect at all during hour long drives.

I seen some posts suggesting that you use GPS Status to reset and downloaded the AGPS status without the SIM card inserted which worked for a couple of hours. Another post saying to use Faster Fix to change GPS server but both have had no long term effect. I try to reset and download AGPS settings each time it doesn't connect with no luck.

Anyone found a permanent solution to this? Please help.

what firmware version are you on, and in particular, what modem (baseband) are you using?
modems will have a direct affect on gps effectiveness, and will vary from region to region

Got to be something wrong as mine works great. Using the sat. maps I can tell what planter I am standing next to out in the driveway and they are only about 20 feet apart. My GPS on my SG2 blows my iPhone 4s out of the water.

I'm running Android 2.3.3 and my baseband version is I9100BUKG1.

I really hope you guys can suggest a fix here. I just got this phone a few weeks ago and the GPS on my HTC Legend was way better.
