Root Why does Oxygen ROM only leave me with 95mb internal memory? And How do flash Custom Partition Table

oh right so it automatically (behind the scenes) moves it all to sd??? and in the 'manage applications' menu where it usually says 'move to SD' if its on the phone... will that then say 'Move to phone' ?

No because the script tricks android into thinking the partition is the phone. It will say move to sd, which you should never do

well you will be using the standard move to sd functionality of the rom. It will bypass all the hard work you did getting a2sd working to avoid using this function in the first place.

lol true xD - so what GingerVillain ROMs have Apps2SD+? cos i have 1 running on my phone now that i just flashed but i dunno if it has it... or do all of them?

Gingerbread front runners are:

Gingervillain - definitely has it, Dark Tremor Version
CyanogenMod 7 - have to add it manually, any version
Oxygen - think its default, no idea what version

oh right so my version of GingerVillain will definitely have it? and will it only begin working once i have the partition on my SD?

If you have gingervillain (do you know what version - check in villainsetup app) then it has a2sd, but different version in 0.7 (i think) onwards.

If you booted up ok without the partition, then yes, once you have the partition, it will use it.

awesome - thanks :D - i have gingervillain 0.9 now as u know.. in Storage it says under internal memory "Total: 148mb and 104mb avaliable space" why only 104mb avaliable :S

Have you installed any apps?

the "Internal storage" is what is actually the /data partition.

This stores any apps, data, settings etc that you put on the phone. Also app caches and dalvik cache (settings within android for specific apps) are here.

no - none at all. heres what i did...
- Did Nandroid backup of my last ROM (Stock Desire 2.2 with sense)
- Wiped cache and user data in clockworkmod recovery
- installed the Gingervillain '.zip' in clockworkmod.
I then checked the free space.. i didnt install anything... :/

Well like i said, settings you make in android, app cache etc is still there.

Get on the apps2sd+ case and you will be fine ;)

oh right ok :) so its not the ROM being stored in the user data partition??

so its not the ROM (Gingrevillain) being stored on the user data partition or anything like that is it??

ok so is it just cache taking up that 45mb (leaving me with only 104mb)??

i made the partition (1gb) and have A2sd+ on the ROM... it is working however my 'available internal memory' is still going down... why is that??

ok i done that :) thing i dont get is.. when i had A2SD+ and all apps on the phone i had like 45mb remaining but with A2SD+ and all apps on 'move to SD' i have 65 :/ whats going on there :/
