Why I'm not green....

Those who know me will notice I am no longer a guide. What gives? Did I break a rule? :questionmark: Did I follow too much of Yeahha's advice? :evil: Did I do bad things to the boss's daughter?

No. I voluntarily stepped down. I had bitten off far more than I could chew. Around the same time I was promoted to guide, I started a new job after more than a year and a half of unemployment, and my own website started to really take off. I was simultaneously learning the ropes as a guide, running the kitchen in a steakhouse, and trying to tech myself MySQL and PHP. I didn't realize how thin I'd spread myself, I just knew I was getting frustrated that I couldn't get to everything I wanted to do. My wife was getting frustrated with me always being buried in the computer or my phone. :fight: It had stopped being fun. I knew something had to give, and sadly being on staff here was what I had to give up. I was only a guide for a couple of weeks, and sadly I was never as good at it as I could have been. Perhaps in the future when I have my personal life more organized, but for now I need to focus on other things.

Just kidding. Sorry to hear your life's so busy brotherswing; hope things get a bit less hectic for you! Kudos to you for realizing you'd spread yourself too thin instead of letting things build to some sort of catastrophic failure. It's never fun to realize you're burning out (and often it can kinda suck), but yeah, definitely better to realize it and do what you can to reduce your load before something breaks.

I understand the situation, I was a guide for around 6 months before having to resign. When life takes over you have to go with it.

I like being a guide but not real sure how "Good" I am at it. I guess time will tell. However thats another story for another time I wish you the best in your endeavours and I'm sure we'll see you around

You shouldn't feel guilty man. A guide position here is voluntary and should be low priority to RL. You got a job and are working on learning several things you don't need to stress out over not being able to devote a bunch of time here

Time will tell how long I can hold onto the Green work, but I'm digging it so far.
