Widgets i paid for..

Greavous

Android Enthusiast
Like many others, ive purchased lots of stuff from the market. Some have a widget as part of an app and then there are widgets I paid for such as those included in the LPP+ package and other launchers ive paid to try. My question is... is there a way to gain access to these widgets (like those in LPP+) while using another launcher (Go Launcher currently)? Im not looking to get something for free, just have access to stuff I paid for.

This is something I would be interested in knowing the answer to, but I believe the answer will be that you can't access them (apps from LPP+) without using the launcher, as they were not designed as standalone widgets, but as a piece of the LPP+ puzzle

Edit: also, since you/we paid for LPP+ as one "unit" and not paying part for the widgets, part for the launcher, etc, the whole "i paid for it" thing won't really fly. Again, i'd love it to be the other way, but it doesn't work that way (i don't think)

I see that like this:

I bought a Ford and want to put the engine in a Toyota. Well, it just might not fit.

Or what people do to me all the time: "I want to put these lenses in another set of eyeglass frames." O......K. Sometimes that can be done but it just doesn't really work that way. Kinda like saying I have this key and want to use it in this lock...

Not trying to bash here. Just throwing out similar scenarios.

That's an interesting take. I saw it more as buying a new computer and upgrading it using pieces (monitor, HD, etc) from an older system. Different strokes for different folks haha.

It's always possible, it just depends on how much work you want to put into it. I think this probably sums up his question though, its probably possible but how much time does he want to spend finding it within the .apk, and then how much time will it take to get it to run right on his phone.

FYI, you actually can do this. There is something out there called SmartKey that allows you to actually do this quite simply. I went to buy a new lock, and when the Home Depot "expert" saw I wanted it re-keyed to match my existing locks he freaked, until he saw I grabbed a SmartKey package. You put in the new key, turn the lock, put in the "smart key" and swap keys and PRESTO! your old key works in the new lock! I can only hope the "smart key" doesn't give any Joe Blow access to my lock, but I suppose they need my key to start the process.;)
