WiFi after version 2.29.405.2

I have a de-branded HTC Desire. Lat night I downloaded the ota update and now my wifi doesn't work. I have tries the factory reset and I have followed the instructions and added the update.zip file to my SD card. When I did this the bar starts going across and then it reads E:signiture verification failed Installation aborted.

Any help would be very greatfully received! Thanks!

Did you have your goldcard in when you updated?

Right, in which case it might be worth flashing it manually...

1. Download the OTA file from here:

http://fotadl.htc.com/OTA_Bravo_Froyo_HTC_WWE_2.29.405.2-2.10.405.2_R_P_release8gn61bgo3rswcw24.zip

2. Rename it update.zip (not update.zip.zip)
3. Put it on the root of your SD card (root = not in any folders)
4. Turn phone off
5. Hold volume down and turn phone on
6. At the bootloader highlight recovery and press power
7. At the next screen with the ! hold volume up and press power
8. Highlight 'apply SD:update.zip' and press power
9. Follow the instructions

This should reflash the OTA update and hopefully get you working

Right. I'm pretty sure my phone has been rooted (I have the Superuser icon in my app list). it was debranded by the tech guys in an Orange shop using Unrevoked. It still has the same SD in it that it had when they debranded it. Will this method work for me?

i had an o2 branded handset and used some download to flash or de-brand the handset and had to make the gold card and ive been able to get the latest upgrade.
i did have to re-make my gold card as i used a differant sd-card when i 1st flashed.will i have to keep re-making the gold card every time i need to update OTA??
one thing i'll say is make sure you hit the right button as i formatted half my hard-drive with one slip of a finger...DOH!!!!!

Restored the firmware, now it's asking me which carrier I've got:
Mobile World
Talk Talk Mobile
Utility Warehouse
Virgin Mobile

I'm neither of these, I'm T-Mobile. And I still get 'error' displayed on wifi :(

the tech guys in an orange shop rooted your device?
wtf

rooting at device does not debrand it, you do not need to be rooted to debrand
unrevoked gives you root and a custom recovery

if you go to software info on the phone, whats all the info there.

if you bought it from orange and orange did that in the shop then they have voided your warranty . make sure you get their names incase you need it for any reason
