I have an Epic 4G from Sprint. If I take my laptop computer into this restaurant and turn on wife, I am taken to a web page which asks for the login and password. That is made available by the restaurant. No problem. But when I turn the Epic's wifi on, it finds the name of the network and then just says I am logged in and signal strength is excellent. But it doesn't work. This is true in other places as well. My friend has the EVO and when he sits next to me and does what I do his phone DOES take him to the login page. He logs in and it works fine. Why does my phone not go there. He says it might be because my OS is 2.1 and his is 2.2. Is that possible? It's frustrating to not be able to use the wifi in coffee shops and restaurants. Oh, BTW, it works fine with the wifi in my house which is unsecured. Thanks.
