Help WiFi Hotspot problem

I recently received a HTC EVO 4g and when I tried to connect my laptop to the hotspot on my phone it asked for a password. My problem is when I go to Sprint Hotspot setting I get this message (The application Settings (process com.android.settings) has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again.
Can anyone tell me what the factory password might be I have tried 1234, my phone number & 0123456789 (thats what it was on my husbands my touch).
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

it will vary from phone to phone as far as your password goes. try clearing the cache for the app. so go to settings>apps>manage apps>hotspot(sorry, i'm rooted and not on stock at the moment and forgot what the actual app is called)>select clear cache and even data(if available). hopefully that will work.
