Help Wifi Issues?

the problem is with the software.........almost all Incredible S users with gingerbread update have reported problems with wifi reception.........it is as bad as the Desire S............one guy even made a comparison and found both the IS and the DS are dropping wifi signals equally.............this is a huge relief.......atleast there is no hardware issue

Hello,

Can you provide a source to this comment? I would like to make sure if this problem is connected to software issue so that it can be corrected or not?

hi! (sorry for my english)

I like very much the HTC Desire S but I'm getting a little crazy and paranoid about the issue of wi-fi

doing a search on youtube for example, there are video and mobile video content from different devices that depending on where you pick if you touch the antenna lose coverage / wi-fi, in part, understand that it is normal?

youtube mobile death grip results (htc, samsung...)

HTC responds to HD7 death grip reports

what say htc about this problem? hardware design issue? software problem?

I have not yet bought the mobile phone due to my concern with this problem

thanks ...

The antenna is located on the top of the mobile, at the back, near the camera. That explains why on landscape position, signal drops, since by then you are holding the phone on its top portion.

Try keeping it at portrait, and hold the top back portion...signal will drop. Try also putting ut at landscape BUT clear the area of the camera...signal remains as it was.

This is a problem with the HTC gingerbread. My incredible had GREAT wifi for ages then I updated and now it is terrible and drops the whole time it is totally unusable.

Dear Sirs,

You have a major problem with the HTC gingerbread update that you have rolled out in the UK. The wifi no longer works for me as it keeps disconnecting. Many others have the same problem. I used my phone for about a year before this and the wifi worked like a dream. It is unacceptable that this vital function no longer works properly. Please let me know how you intend to fix this. On another note you have major problems with your HTC Sense website despite heavily promoting it. I look forward to your response.

I have the same problem as the 1st post.

i was holding the 3.5 jack for a few seconds, about to pull the headphones out, and then the wifi dropped out. after a bit of messing round, i found it cuts out if i press my finger over the speaker on the back of the phone, or anywhere around there and closer to the 3.5 jack.

not a big issue for me, as i just have to not put my finger there, which i wouldnt really do much, but it would be nice if it didnt happen anyway.

I'm having problems with this too. Is there a solution yet and is it known to be software issue? All other devices in the house connect fine.
