Help Wifi not working

So like the title says its not working... looks like it might be isolated to my house though but tell me what you think...


So my incredible recognizes the network as it is remembered, it says:

scanning
connecting
obtaining IP address
disconnected

and then it repeats this over and over and over and over and over. So far it hasnt stopped the cycle of doom

I'm sure you've already checked this but is your laptop or any other device connecting to your router ok? Maybe try powering down the router and restarting and also a battery pull on the phone just for kicks. Do you have any apps installed that deal with wi-fi management especially any recent installs?

At my house there is another computer, my laptop, and my brother's phone that were all connected ok

OK so I actually ended up effing up my wireless routers settings whilst trying to diagnose this problem...FML...and had no wifi at all for about an hour and change buuuuuuut I figured out how to redo my wireless settings using my laptop to connect directly to it etc etc etc

long frustrating story short: wifi borked, I bork everything internet related in my house, fixed the interwebs, my phone magically works again.

still not sure what happened initially and my frustration still makes me want to fire bomb a small country, but everything seems like its working for the time being lol

YUP. i coulda swore that I've used it before and never had all my settings erase. whatever tho it was nice wasting my evening fixing all that. ha. thanks tho

My phone's wifi wouldn't turn on. I've had this trouble for some time and I'd given up. partly because I couldn't find an answer here or anywhere else. well I stalled a widget that enables a bunch of different on/off and contact buttons ... to make a long story short it had a wifi button and for no reason whats so ever it makes my wifi work in my phone. I turn it off and try to turn it on from the original android widget it would work. I go to phone settings and it wouldn't work. but with this widget it makes it work!! anyway that is my 2cents. Got to work by accident looking for something else. hopes this helps anyone else out there.
