WiFi query

I have a Desire HD running Android 2.2
I like to use my WiFi connection at home to avoid using my data allowance
However I have notice that when the phone goes into sleep mode it disconnects the WiFi connection. This is annoying rather than anything else.
Can I stop it doing this? I have searched and come up with nothing relevant in either the manual (very basic) or online

I don't know if the screen is disabled in your version of your phone, but in 2.2 in Advanced Wifi Settings, there's a wifi sleep policy. If you disable that it uses more battery (which you don't care about if the charger is plugged in) but the wifi won't sleep.

Rukbat is correct - there is a WiFi sleep policy option...

Hi. Have you looked at your wifi settings? There is an option there to keep wifi on during sleep when the screen is off. So its settings>wifi>advanced. Should find the option in there.

Erm... if you open up wifi, is there 3 dots (above each other) at the bottom right? There should be a few options, one of which is advanced...
