Root wifi wont connect wpa2 routers on ANY rom!

hey guys im kind of a lurker around here i started with a huawei ascend then optimus v now the triumph. i am far far far from being a dev but i am not new to flash roms and whatnot i have been skipping around between cm7 reload and froyo cream sand as well as the new red rom and recently i noticed that i can connect to open wifi routers like at work but at my girlfriends and my house where it is a wpa2 encrypted, i can connect for about a minute then i get an error and my wifi will turn off when i turn it back on it wont detect any wifi mine or my neighbors so i toggle it on and off a coupke times and it will see them but then it will do the same thing disconnect after about a minute! and sometimes when i try to turn it on it will just say error and not turn on at all i have tried all the different roms and wiped everything dalvic, cache, sytem, batery stats, factory reset and then install the roms and nothing has worked so far any ideas??????
 
Is it just wpa2, or wep/anything else?

Mine connects to wpa2 just fine. Have you tried it on a completely fresh install with no 3rd party apps (just system and google apps)?
 
yeah all my routers are wpa2 and they all work and connect fine the only time I see it loop is when I get the password wrong. and by loop I mean it says connecting, getting Ip and then connecting again this only happens when i get the password wrong.

havent tried a wep yet, it will connect for about a minute says obtaining ip, then connected and i can browse the web or go to market or whatever but after a minute the wifi symbol will dissapear and when i go into settings it says disconnected and that my router isnt in range and neither are my neighbors which i can always see. also i have been getting force closes sometimes when i hit turn on wifi then hit wif setting it will hang then force close wifi settings. and yes i have tried a fresh install wiping everything, dalvic, factory reset even battery stats and it still does it
 
Try WEP, but if this was happening even when you were on stock then it's a hardware issue; and you should call VM too replace your phone.
 
make double sure your password is typed in correctly, no capitalizations, or extra keys got inserted from the keyboard. enable "show password" to check.
 
I had the issue on stock and on CM7, I had to reset my router and have had no issues since. That was when I had a router with WEP, I now use WPA2. But I can connect to both just fine.
 
cool, fixed it i was just doing a reset by pushing the button in the back and it kept doing the same thing so i logged into comcast and did a reset throught the website, and BAM it works now! thanx for all the help everybody!

To do a full reset you totally unplug your router from power for a few seconds... But that's cool that you got it working by resetting it through their website. :D
