WiiPad?!

ok, lots of people at ??????? ZT-180|Android|MID|????|????? - Powered by Discuz! are complaining about the battery life. Seems like the wifi chip is overvolted (It evens makes the board warm in the corner). And who knows what other leakage is happening with the early firmware.

But anyway, standard wifi and internet use on WinCE is providing only 1 hour battery life. Also the charge time is 4 hours, so it takes longer to charge than to consume.

My suggestion is to wait for battery life benchmarks to arrive after the Android release version is available. I'm a little worried with my order now and thinking I should have gone A81-e instead. (It has Android 2.2 now)

Where did you bought the carry case ? I want one too but Wiipad doesn't show it on the online shop.

Basic impulse 3 hours charging, power is not great, and it is not a USB power supply, the machine is no USB data line, said to brush machine can use TF card ~ Plug the power supply when the spark jumped every time out has been tested many times is indeed a power design issues, bouncing sparks! Nor outlet, the other charger will not jump spark ~

Really concerned about the battery life on the wiipad neno after you have realsed thoose figures for WinCE.

4hours charge for 1hour usage is noway acceptable enough in my view.

I really would like some more clarity from the supplier but not sure if i will get it.... i will put the question to them over email

I managed to get a case and screen protector from the supplier.... (would hate to scratch/damage it soo soon)

Any news/updates would be great guys.

Can anyone tell me in what way the Android v2.2 is better the previous realeses please

Wiipad.us are infact chinaelectronics.com, Has anyone gotr any experience with either of the companies? iv done some reading online and it appears they may not be what we expected them to be.

i have heard cases of them cancelling orders etc

I was told 26th, but should be intresting to see if they live up to this date..

Chinaeltronics apparenlty changed names 5 times so there may be somthing fishy going on....

Any one else on preorder? what date was you given?

David when did you make your order out of intrest?
 
Looking at merimobiles.com they are also expecting to deliver preordered devices out at the end of the week... so at least they are now consistant.

I just got an email from jiongtang stating that he'll send mine today. It's flashed with the new firmware released yesterday which is not as perfect as he wanted before shipping. Android Market is not working and wifi still has an issue but works under conditions.

Zenithink are considering releasing a bigger battery soon to increase the battery life as well as working on a wifi issue to increase battery life.
 
Goddamit if only I found this site sooner. I already bought ZT-180 Win CE version and have tested it now and it has SERIPIOUS PROBLEMS WITH THE WIFI! The bloody thing cant load anything at decent speeds even though I have a cable modem router. I cant believe some dodgy chinese suppliers are even shipping these products knowing this. Whats the point of a MID that cant connect to the internet. Bought it from New 10 Inch Android 2.1 Pad ZT-180 Tablet PC/MID - China Tablet Pc,Ipad,Android 2.1 in Notebook & Laptop Computer . Also the battery life is not even 3 hours like its reported. I was so close to buying a 7inch MID (SmartQ V7 or the Orphan X10) but decided it was too small a screen.

God... i bought this product just because they promised Arduino 2.1 installed, if it come with WinCE i can just throw it away :mad:

I hope that the one that come from Wiipad has already Arduino installed, even version 1.0, but not wince !
 
I've confirmed with my reseller that Android 2.1 is included.

There are new releases coming out every week or so, but only send to resellers.

I don't think the WiiPad will ever have a WinCE firmware released. You'll be free to use the chinese WinCE if you wanted to.
 
If it comes with WinCE, it will be a simple process to flash it with Android. Hiapad.com, for instance, uses a utility and an image file to flash updates and files to it - outside of the OS. You can also boot into recovery mode with an update.zip file on the sd card. IF it comes with WinCE, just use it until Android gets released.

Also, Arduino is probably not the word you're looking for...
 
hey guys i want one of these tablets badly but im very confused on which one to buy can u tell what product is worth my money i cant afford an ipad so everything has led me to buy one of these chinese ones i was planing to buy this one 7" Rockchip DUAL CORE Android Tablet Apad - UK STOCK on eBay (end time 15-Aug-10 13:23:34 BST) but since there have been so many criticts about the product im really confused could anyone advise me on which one to buy please it would be appreciated
