Wil the S be relevant after MWC?

I've narrowed down my replacement phone from the mytouch 4g to the S and the S came out as the winner. Currently I'm using an unlocked iphone but tired of not having it have 3g.I'm just wondering if theres something coming for t-mobile that will be better then the s thats going to be announcedm come mwc? Or will the S be able to hold its own for awhile? Also, does the S bave the hotspot ability?
 
I heard that LG Optimus 2X is coming to T-mobile but don't know when. It's the first Nvidia tegra 2 dual core powered phone with 1080p video, HDMI out. Also Samsung Vibrant 4G is coming soon with 21Mbps HSPA+, 2.2 froyo.

Like you mentioned in this thread title, Samsung is going to announce Galaxy S2 in MWC which will destroy all other phones in terms of hardware spec. It's developed to go against not any current phones, but apple's upcoming iPhone 5. But that monster phone will be arriving much later this year, maybe summer or fall.
 
I may wait to pull the trigger then. I was pretty set on the S but I don't want to have buyers remorse a few days later. I'll be using my income tax money on whatever I get, probably contract free as I'm on flexpay. Do you have any idea of a price point on the Galaxy S 2? I'm just fed up with my iphone and not having 3g, but I want to get something that will be top of the line for awhile. When does mwc start? I know it's soon isn't it?

Exactly, plus the s will keep it's value and still be a great phone for the next year. You have to decide on something and honesty a dual core processor won't even change anything until the software is updated to support multiple cores.

Imo the other phones that are coming out don't even compare to the s. Just because of carrier crapware and manufacturers skins.

Plus most of them won't even have 2.3 when they are released. So in my mind I would stick with a stock google phone over anything else. No buyers remorse here. And there never will be for me.

No matter what phone you purchase, it will not be top of the line within 6 months. More importantly however, it'll work just the same after any other phone announcements are made.
 
I think the difference between the Nexus phones is that the Nexus One was top of the line when released - it was still pretty good until late 2010.

The Nexus S however is top of the line on release, but higher end phones were already being announced on its release.

Personally - I'm happy with my choice with the Nexus S. It doesn't have a skin, bloatware and will surely be updated first from Google.

In my opinion the NS will last me till next Christmas when I'll be awaiting the next in the Nexus line.

That has me thinking. I'm not big on skins, and I like the idea of getting updated first by google. Maybe The S can work for me. I have awhile before I get my funds so I guess that gives me time to mull it over.. but I apprecaite your input as well

I'm currently looking at those 2 phones as my next phone. I was using a Nexus One that I broke. Other than that I probably wouldn't be looking for another phone. I was leaning towards the Nexus S but I'm currently leaning towards the MyTouch 4G. I'll probably hold out another week or 2 to see what else is coming down the pipe line. Personally I want to a phone like the Atrix of Bionic but on T Mobile. Both of those phone make everything else feel outdated.
 
I think the NS will make you happier for longer...while newer phones will boast better hardware, you can at least claim the top software side...which is where I think the biggest strides will be at this time...
 
Yeah, no other phone can beat NS when it comes to pure Google experience. Nexus phones will always have edge on the OS, softwares.

The upcoming Galaxy S2 will destroy all other phones hardware spec wise. But then you are looking at mid summer for the U.S release at the earliest. Maybe then they will make dual core Nexus S2 toward the end of year when Google releases Ice Cream or whatever for dual core phones. Well, then by that time we will come back to the same argument, looking at even better phones on the pipeline. This cycle will never end.
 
Well I think that settles it. The s wins. I just checked and I could
Have my refund as early as tomorrow but more likely Monday.
I'm getting this phone and the rest of it's going to the bank for savings
I'm going to buy it at bestbuy because the giant eagles around here
Offer fuel perks on giftcards.. And I'm buying it off contract. Going to have
Aton of fuel perks :) and an awesome phone .
 
No matter what anyone says in the end the S will be the only phone.that stays relevant because its a direct Google phone controlled completely by Google. It will receive all updates first and will always be ahead because software always trumps hardware
 
The only negative I see is that it is slippery like an eel! Just dropped it again!!! Mind you, not a scratch on it after 3 good drops...
