will flashing a nightly on (sprint) htc hero completely replace rc1?

i was running android 2.2 on the htc hero. the zip files install name was update-cm-6.0.0-Heroc-RC1-signed and i flashed a nightly over it. is this the same as wiping the phone to factory and then installing the nightly? or will installing over it leave rc1 on there and then just apply the updates? which way is better?

I see you are having troubles with mms, have you already flashed the nightly?

While wiping is generally necessary, flashing between any cm6 rom isn't. I still wipe between them though as it will cut out the guesswork if I suddenly had issues.

wow this post is from a while ago. i appoligise for that. sometimes i forget to come on here for bits of time and then miss stuff. but iv gone far ahead from here, im now very familiar with the different wipe options, i found to use froyo mms fix for the texts, and iv also moved to aosp to get more speed out of my phone so the problem is gone! but thatnk you for the help and my appologies again
