Ok.....might be a stupid question here. I replaced my Inc. 2 with a Rezound. Now my gf uses the Inc. 2 on wifi only just to play games. It is not activated for any cell use....just wifi. I know eventually the Inc. 2 will get ICS....my question is will I be able to update it to ICS with the official OTA once it's released with it running on wifi only and not activated??

I don't think she'll be getting any OTA from Verizon if it's not activated. I'd suggest you root it and prepare to install one of the ICS ROMS that will be available. Otherwise, you have what you have. If she likes it that's not such a bad thing.

Were you able to get past the activation/set up screen?

You probably didn't have to mess with that since you didn't factory reset the phone after deactivation. It's all good then.

You even use the non activated Dinc2 to make and receive phone calls if you are connected to wifi and have something on it like skype or google voice. Enjoy!!!

Use groove IP on the play store its 4.99 and use with google voice now you have a home or work phone just forward your home or cell phone to g-number. Update through HTC site if one comes along.
