I will NOT be buying Samsung next time around in 2016! Here is why...
The Note 4 still smokes the Note 5 as you can remove the battery and you have removable media.
The Note 5 doesn't have either, plus you can remove the back cover to custom paint, like I did mine. See below:

I will be going with the LG v10 as it actually has better features than the Note 5 AND has the removable rear cover, battery & media card. Check it out.

as I just got my Note 4 last month, it is still new a grrrrrrr8 !!!!

I will not buy anything that will not allow me to remove the battery....
I need to do that so that I can install a Qi wireless charging coil....

My daughter's HTC One M9, you have to install the Qi coil in a case, and then you have to plug it into the mini usb port.... now how poor is that?

Hey AZ, the Note 4 is still one of the best phones out there! Only reason I'm not keeping it and jumping ship is we are switching from AT&T to Verizon and my Note 4 won't work with their service, so hence the LG v10.

BTW, AZ didn't you have a S5 two, three years ago and posting on that S5 forum a lot?

You coming over here to Verizon, to be with me? You son of a gun.... :D

I still have both of the S5 phones. One is my wife's and she is on it all day long playing Candy Crush..... lord a mercy, that game drives me to drink, and yet she just keeps playing it all day long...

My S5 is in perfect condition, and I keep it on my computer desk, and use it for WiFi or Camera work.

I only picked up the Note 4 because the price was right, it came with a Speck Military grip case identical to the one on both of our S5s.... and it has a larger screen as you know.
I did not appreciate the camera on the Note 4 until I had used it for a few weeks, then realized that hey!! this thing is better than the one in the S5... especially the Flash is a lot brighter and carries farther.

Everything else is the same between the two phones.

I monitor most of the forums now.... just reply to the ones where I have some experience.... After all, Android is Android... "I think?"

Ha! ...and I thought my wife was a little kid again... she plays that same game a lot on her iPhone.

I'm with you Jack, no removable battery no Samsung, I too am looking , or rather waiting, for the LG G4 Pro (as it's called over here) to go on sale. Phil

I have my Note 4, for about a month, and i love it. To me, the ext sd card is the most important thing. If the Note 6 has the ext sd card but a non-replaceable battery with a large capacity, i'll still upgrade.:p

I agree with grunt. I'll settle for no removable battery if I can have expandable storage. I'm still toting the note 4 on Verizon and other than a hiccup in waking the screen every now and then, it does everything else perfect.

Qi charger is part of note 5 no need to remove battery just like s6 I think the phones are better in there own way I have a Note 4 and S6 and go back and forth.. The s6 is more daily friendly phone mainly cos of size.
Also how often does one really needs to swap battery both do a good job of lasting a whole day. As for sd card I don't really miss it guess for ppl that need everything on the phone maybe...but honestly it's a phone why is my question.

1st, I don't even own a spare battery, never have.

2nd, my daughter agrees with you 100%.
I gave her a HTC One M9 and she immediately complained that is "too big" and "too heavy"...

sigh! tried to give her a great Christmas gift and I goofed.

so, my post about having a "replaceable battery" was simply because that way, you can install a Qi Charger inside the case.... with the other phone models, that is not true.... and it sure isn't true with the HTC M9.... it has to plug into the mini-usb port, and that made the Qi charger useless to my daughter.

The LG V10 is a good phone, just not for me. All those features that you mentioned are on the LG, but you forgot to mention what's NOT on the LG, namely an s-pen. I've had the LG G3, but the V10 is too narrow, and too heavy for me. Good luck with it.:p

As for the s-pen, I don't use it much. I like the fact the phone turns on, and use it for "fine" work, but use a softer tipped stylus most of the time as the s-pen leaves fine marks on the screen that has to be rubbed off when your done. Part of using the stylus is so you don't have to wipe the screen all the time.

I may keep the Note four and wait a while longer as some reviews I'm seeing, the Note 4 actually holds it's own or outperform the LG v10:

All my phones have been turning on for years. I use an app called "screen notifications". The app looks like a light bulb. I can set any app i want to turn on the phone(email, msg, espn, calendar, phone, whatever. It uses very little battery, and works on all phones.:p

I switched to Sprint and just got a Note4 also. Actually I had an LG G4 at first but I found everything but the camera underwhelming so I switched to the Note4. I had gotten my wife a Note4 and I liked hers better! Well that just wouldn't do!

Too bad, I loved my LG G2. I would take it over an S4 anyday. Buttons on the back are still genius, in my personal opinion. But LG just wasn't innovative enough on the G4, other than the camera.

Sprint works fine here btw. I'm never going back to BigRed or AT&T.

Where's the "undecided" option on the poll????

I used the note 4 as my daily for close to a year then moved to the v10 (still have the n4.) The note 4 screen still blows away anything lg puts out and I miss the button layout on the note, but performance wise the v10 easily tops it. I've had way fewer slowdowns and janky animations compared to using the note.

The n4 is still a great phone and I'd have no problem recommending it to this day (I'd even go back to using it daily without a second thought,) but the free 200gb micro sd and battery kit were too good to pass up on the v10. I won't buy a phone without a replaceable battery so I'll probably end up buying the follow up to the v10 unless Samsung pulls a 180 and starts offering them again.

Looks like I'll be staying with Samsung after all as in late Feb, early March the new Samsung Galaxy S6 edge + will be out and they are bringing back the SD micro support... news said there were so many complaints that they decided to bring it back. Yay!!!

The s7. Yeah I heard that too. Gives me some hope for Note 6.

But, the Note 6 won't be out till September or so... long wait. I'm going for the S6 Edge + which will be out by March.

Looks like Samsung listened this time. There were a LOT of longtime Samsung owners like me that was going to jump ship and go for anther brand, in my case, the LG v10.

no SD card, no replaceable battery, I just won't buy it period.
The Micro SD card support will be enough for me to stay with Samsung. As for the battery, I can use the small portable battery if needed. I was considering the LG v10, but my Gear S smartwatch won't work with it.

haven't used a sd card in nearly 5 years = no big loss for me.

don't carry a spare battery and never owned a 2nd battery for any phone I've purchased = no big loss for me.

I love my Note4, but there are certainly things about the Note5 that have my pocketbook itching.

Well then, your definitely not a heavy user. ;)
I'm a heavy user and used both extra battery and SD cards in mine. So big loss for me if I don't have them, especially the micro SD.

seVer, you are extremely fortunate never having had to do a battery pull to correct a fault on your phone, I have had to do one at least four times in the last 12 months, not easy to do without a removable battery. Phil

Hi, for anyone in the UK looking to get the LG G4 Pro (V10) this is their reply to my query on the official release in the UK.
"Good morning Philip, I hope you are having a lovely morning.

Thank you for your query regarding the V10 and of course I can advise you further. The new LG flagship the V10 you may have seen pop up on our UK website.
Currently we have no confirmation on release of this product to the UK market; at this stage we are aware the handset is available to the US market as well as in Korea. Please be aware if you were to purchase one from the US and Korean region we would be unable to assist in the repair process due to being unable to obtain parts for a non-European handsets.
At this stage we as the support team have been told that at this stage the handset is no destined for the UK market. If you are really looking into getting the handset in the UK your best bet is to contact your network provider and let them know of your interest in the product.
If they receive quite a lot of interest its possible your network provider will try and stock the handset however I cannot guarantee anything.
I appreciate your interest in this amazing product and personally I really hope that this eventually hits the UK shelves but at this stage the information we have states that it will not.
I hope this email has answered your query, if so, I would really appreciate if you can complete my short survey at the bottom of this email. I appreciate any feedback you can provide solely based on my efforts today,

Should you need any more assistance, you can reply to this email by clicking the additional questions link above the survey.
