Will rooting my S2 wipe out my data?

Lurker
Hi im new to the forums.

I would like to root my Tmobile galaxy S2 but would like to keep my data, mainly some app data that i dont think im able to back up. I searched around and i couldn't really find an answer for the S2.

So i was wondering if rooting my phone will delete everything or if there is a method of backing up my app data? (i believe this is only possible after root)

Thanks

Welcome to the forums I crimson. :ciao:

No, rooting will not affect your data or apps.

EDIT: Found a solution

I just had to enable USB debugging in settings->applications->development & then restarted my phone.

Thank you again!

Thank you for your answer.

Now i got a new problem..

The Superuser app that came with the rooting process seems to become unresponsive and i get a notice to force close it whenever an app asks for permission / root rights such as titanium backup.

I've tried using apps in the play store to check for root and they all freeze and usually say Superuser has become unresponsive as well and the app would freeze.

Superuser 3.0 file didn't root for me, so i used the busybox one.

Is there any solution to this? I've tried uninstall and re-installing the apps countless times.

SuperSU working perfectly. Developer (Chainfire) quickly fix bugs. But SuperUser app developer (Chain DD) not update his app regularly, premium user not receive support.
