Help Will the unlocked HTC Desire HD work in India?

im still asking myself for that lol
by the time DHD is in stock there would be gingerbread, nvidia tegra 2 phones lol

someone knows if the galaxy tab sends and receives text messages and RECEIVES calls?!?

lol..
n abt d expansys ka deal.. i am placin my bundled order wit dem by tonyt... my patience has finally run out... but i want a fone.. a tablet is of no use to me... i guess d deal dey r offerin is pretty decent..
and i can wait until mid december for the device.. i reli dnt feel dey'l deliver it to me any sooner.. dey myt say stock expected in 1 day or smthn.. bt dey have to clear out their backlogs 1st...
neways watever u get.. hope dat is worth it.. njoy!!!!!!!!!!

decided, if the galaxy tab can send and get text messages im getting it else im going to suicide

hahahaha...

jus wait for sometime.. u'l get your DHD for sure... jus that the fone is so hugely popular dat HTC can't keep up wit the demand...

On second thots...buddy.. can u commit suicide before u cancel ur order from handtec???
jus change the shipping address and den u r free...
jus PM me wen ur sure and i will send u my address... :D

im not going to die that easily lol
one of my frend (living in the uk) also pre order dhd loooong ago on 11th october and he recently got an email from amazon saying the stock has been delayed again and expected between 17-23 december!
also was written in the email that htc is utilising that time for fixing some bugs which were there in the initial shipments, also after some googleing i found that many websites say that dhd is having manufacturing defects which htc is refering to as 'bugs' but the existing dhds seem to work fine?
and how long till nexus s and gingerbread releases? 1 month? when nexus one was announced it was available to buy immediately, the nexus s is by samsung means it will be officially in india too simultaneously. IMO, the nexus s will be available sooner than dhd.
similar happened to n8, when it was announced it was a great phone but with time better phones came and till it was released it was crapped by the competition.

even expansys does not have it in stock...clove updated that their stocks are again delayed, I feel europe is gonna face this shirtage till dec...and if htc somehow release it in india in dec then too it will worth wait and get it with bill and warranty from here

agreed.. but the site says launchin on 10th December.. der would be a delay between launch and availability.. i feel only once the stock issues in europe are sorted out the DHD will be available in India.. you never knw tho..

totally agree dat waitin for the bill and warranty will be worth it...
dats y i said.. once der is a more reliable source or der r many oder sites puttin up the same date.. i wd cancel my expansys order ryt away :)

hope it comes to India soon...

PS: puttin in an email to HTC now.. lets see wat their response is....
yup me from mumbai.. where r u 4m???

even if its facing shortage in the uk it may still release in india, its facing shortage in only UK and not whole europe, its available very easily in greece portugal etc! check the website of other european countries.

HTC support team will just reply the same thing that they done know about the launch...

but I still fancy desire hd, mostly for their new sense s/w :)

i hope dey dnt.. but last tym arnd wen dey sent d same response 4 d umpteenth tym i had sent dem a bit nasty email following which i received 3 calls from HTC to convince me dat dey wd personally call me and tel me if they had any info :D

neways.. if dey send d same system generated reply... my emails can get nastier ;)

n yea.. no samsung for me... m an ardent HTC fan.. have been usin a silly Nokia n admirin HTC since quite smtym now...
Android is the future of smartphones and i guess stick with HTC mainly cos of their OTA updates rather than using Samsung's patent KIES...

gr8 to know that HTC called you :) I dont write to them mainly bcoz of their system generated response ... yes OTA is the best for HTC and horrible for samsung for their crap s/w on their phones and for windows...I loved my SGS when I got it first it was launched here but its s/w is sucking me ... hardware wise its still more powerful that DHD but looks and its s/w is crap.

HTC for me too but they should give the same weightage as they give to europe

cancelled my handtec order already. the desire hd is just out of my mind now, it doesnt have a front facing camera, bad battery, faded colors on the screen, bad speaker and the most important im not getting it for another 20-30 days AT LEAST.
i confirmed that samsung tab can do text and calls both ways send and recieve so thats kinda good but it wont replace my phone yet.
my next phone is going to be nexus s or similar gingerbread, and i may get galaxy tab along with it too. but desire hd is out of the league, ive waiting for alot of time to get desire hd, ill wait a month more to get nexus s :P
im sure there wont be shipping problems with nexus s as its SAMSUNG! :D

Hi Everyone,

Just signed up on here. I guess most of you have already seen this but in case you haven't GSMARENA recently came out with their detailed review on the Desire HD, located here:
HTC Desire HD review: Most wanted - GSMArena.com

If you haven't heard of GSMarena before this, it is (at least my) number one site to go to for all detailed reviews where they check pretty much everything on the phone.

I was surprised to see the bad review on the HD recording (in .3gp format) and quality and also the poor review on the audio reproduction but I haven't seen this mentioned on any other site but from past experience I've found their reviews to be bang spot on and accurate always.

I really pray these are the things HTC are fixing and that's why it's taking so long but I highly doubt it.

There are also lot of cool detailed videos on You Tube demo'ing the DHD. Hint: Don't just do a search (after searching, click on "search options" and select the long duration videos) which will have lots of nitty gritty detail live demo'd in their videos to see how it functions.
Here's a good playlist of a detailed review on the DHD:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vXu3v6gtqFQ&feature=list_related&playnext=1&list=PL04578D93D4B91E37

I've been desperately waiting for this damn phone (Chennai) but looks like HTC has a long standing history with delayed releases here for sure.

Ridiculous! If anyone has managed to get their hands on the phone do let us know how it's functioning on all aspects and if there are any caveats if any.

I'm a media professional so the 720 recording is quite critical to me. I was almost about to give up and just go in for the Samsung Galaxy S for its superior Super AMOLED screen but ditched it when I found out the w***ers didn't bother to put a flash into the phone.

Really hope we all get the DHD soon.

Cheers,

Hey AndroidFreud

I you are lokking for a phone with 720p recording i suggest don't go for android or at the very least not for htc htcs have really poor camera performance, might i suggest going for a N8 or if you absolutely must have an android go for the xperia x10. Another phone to look at is the samsung Wave granted it is Bada OS but its got a superlative screen and an awesome camera (have seen it in action).
Also check out gsmarena's review of DHD the video recording sucks

If u really want smthng with a very good video recorder.. as of now no android fone is good enuf 4 u... as suggested u should look for Samsung Wave or Nokia N8.. i wd also suggest out d iphone4.. i hv seen the xperia X10 in action n i wd say the above 3 fones r better.. n i say u better dnt have an android rather dan havin Android 1.6.. Xperia's 2.1 update is still not available for all in India..
Android is popular mainly cos of the software.. which is a lot better dan all d 3 fones mentioned above.. Wave's Bada is still a very new player.. Nokia's symbian is ages old.. and d IOS4 literally puts u behind bars wit millions of restrictions...
Still if u want a phone with a good video recorder i suggest 1 of d above 3 or you can w8 for Samsung's rumored new phone Nexus 2 or Nexus S and check out its specs.. u cn hope dat its Android and Samsung has corrected d mistake of not givin a flash in the Galaxy S this tym around :D

any response fro HTC ?

dey called me again.. apologizin for nt havin ne info and askin me nt to believe any links as dey r nt directly from HTC...

HTC will lose out bigtime here.. i am bein put off nw... m sure many ppl are..

i dnt reli lyk Samsung bt mny ppl do.. and i saw it on sme TV show dat Nexus 2 is comin soon... oders who r waitin for DHD wil go 4 it..

I always lykd Motorola's Droid X.. n dey said its equivalent.. the Milestone X is comin to India soon too... if dats d case it will surely be GOODBYE HTC...

jus waitin for anoder few days for expansys to deliver up on my order...

well,, only if samsung's nexus s has the HTC Sense software, I would have gone for it without a second thought, but now I have SGS for quite sometime now I hate samsung software, lag buggy etc no updates to name a few.

but yeah if HTC gonna launch there DHD after nexus s then who knows, I can go for it and HTC for sure gonna loose so many customers like us and eventually loose business in india
