Thank you yes I meant the Note 3...Sorry.
Is 4.4 suppose to be a major upgrade?
You really don't need TouchWiz to work split-window view. Also, if it's similar to the Note 2, you can probably use pop-up browser, email and S Notes. Thus having 3 windows open simultaneously. Want to really cram your screen? Open pop-up video to get screen number 4...Recently I've been using its "Multi-Window" mode that features the ability to run two different apps in two windows at one once. Samsung's TouchWiz is what makes this possible and it's really impressive. Even better is the ability to adjust the windows to the sizes you want. I run Chrome on the top two thirds of the screen and S Note in the bottom third. A researchers dream, I can take notes with the S-Pen, while surfing my sites in Chrome.

Is it a major update.
Many of the features are under the hood though
The new ART Runtime might be the feature of KitKat that will make the biggest difference to Note 3 owners:"The early version of ART in Android 4.4 already speeds up apps by around 100%, and the final version should be even better."If you think your phone is fast and smooth now, it'll scream afterward!
I just installed it on my Nexus 7. Very little speed improvement, and no noticeable differences on the surface.
The major speed improvement comes with the new ART runtime, but it's still in the early stages and must be manually enabled in Developer Options if you want to play with it:I just installed it on my Nexus 7. Very little speed improvement, and no noticeable differences on the surface.
^Agreed.
And hopefully Samsung doesn't pull the disaster of an update rollout as they did with the S3 just recently...
In general I think the only case where a newer operating system is likely to ruin a phone is when the phone was already RAM starved and the newer Android makes even more memory demands. With KitKat it's going to be the opposite -- you'll have more usable RAM with the newer operating system.IME phones are better in the operating system they come with... I fully expect kit kat to screw up the n3.
