Root will you be able to restore app setting after rooting?

So i've been using unrevoked root for the sake of it being easy and me not having to do much work, but since the newest revoke is just as long as a real root I'm just going to do that, but one thing i want to know is if i backup my current setting and what not for my apps and than root and flash a new rom, will i have to install everything again from a new slate or can i just reload the backup?

when you root, titanium will let you restore app settings like login etc
