Willing to make wallpapers

@ AJam - Unless you can come through with some good pics of the characters you want in the appropriate positions, then I'm going to put this one on hold until I see what McL can come up with. Sorry to make you wait, but it seems like he really knows what's needed for this one. In the meantime, I'll work on a background and the energy beams so that when I do get the characters, it'll be pretty quick after that. Fair enough?

I'm not in any rush to get this. I just thought it would be a wicked idea and am surprised it isn't already available. I'm sure other fans of the show would appreciate a wallpaper of this sort.

The following are images that are not mine, but stolen from deviantart, google images, etc. Some have been modified by myself and all of them were resized. I can easily find the originals if needed. This is just to get the ball rolling I guess:

The pics in the 1st and 3rd are exactly the type/pose I'm looking for, except in a little larger size and higher resolution. If You have that, please pass 'em along (I'll search again and see if I can get a little luckier too). If not, I'll wait to see what McL can come up with.

I agree, it should be cool when all is said and done. I've been working on a cool background, and I'm pretty damn happy with it, so at least that's something... :) Now we'll just see if I can pull it off.

Dig the hell out of the plasma type explosion. Ill see what I can do for the picc though, but the first one you posted looks like a winner honestly.

Thanks AJam - got it. I'm still going to wait to see what McL can come up with, but these help. Besides - I'm not feeling too creative right now. I just got back from a funeral for an old friend and 2 of his children :(, so I'm pretty morose about now. I'll get to it this weekend though for sure.

I thought I'd just let you know where I'm at on your request. Obviously the characters aren't in there yet, and it's still a work in progress, but let me know if you think I'm on the right track here.

Looks great! You were right about the background. Well done. If I can make a suggestion: have the collision in the center be a big ball of blue and purple. Something similar to this http://images.wikia.com/dragonball/images/8/85/Kamehameha_Galick_Gun_Struggle.jpg except less obvious. More of a giant collision of energy! I can't wait till it's finished!

Thanks for the input and good to know you like the direction I'm going. I was liking the way collision part was turning out, but I was never quite sure it was right for this wallpaper. I'll work on doing it more as you suggested. Sorry this one's taking so long - Hopefully, I'll make it worth it. With a little luck, I hope to have this one wrapped up tomorrow or Monday.

Alright AJam, I finally have something for you. I couldn't get any of the youtube screen caps to match up, so I combined a few things I found to make it work the best I could. Hope you like it. Let me know.

To save it in full 960x800 resolution, use the download button on the linked page or the share button to email it to an address accessible on your phone, then save the attachment. If your phone wont save it full size, or it looks fuzzy, download and save it with a computer, then USB or email the full sized version to your phone.

Everything on this looks good except their legs. Is there any way you could bend their legs to like a crouching stance? That would set it off and be perfect imo.

Alright - I'm not good enough to make them crouching, but I tried to put the legs in a more aggressive pose. That's about the best I can do with what I have to work with. I thinks it's a little better, at least...

Much better dude. They just looked really stationary and didnt look like they were shooting the beams.

As for donations, as I've explained before (but not recently), I don't take them because often I use other peoples work as elements in the wallpapers I make. As parts of what I make are not really all mine, I would not feel cool receiving payment for them.

However, I'm going to start a new policy here. If anyone feels like making some sort of a donation, I'm asking that you give it to your local food shelves. That would make me happier than a few extra bucks in my pocket. TIA to anyone who does this. :)

Hey AJam - Great to hear that you like it.

As to your question, no, I don't use Photoshop. I do almost all of these with GIMP (offline) or SumoPaint (online). They each have there advantages, and are both free (YAY!). FYI - I have no computer graphics training at all. I just started playing around with the image editors to see what they did and what I could do with them, and found that I enjoyed it.

And you can bet that if I get stumped on something I think you can help out with, I'll give you a shout. Thanks!

The way I see it, youre no different than a Rom Dev in that regard. Do they write the ENTIRE ROM? No, but they adjust, tweek and fix things. Thats what you do with images. I donate to Devs(Ok, well only Virus and Ziggy), but I also donate to the themers that I use their work. You still put in work and deserve something in return for your time. While the apps and images you may use are free, your time ISNT.

As far as the image that you did for him, constructive criticism is what whats us and the things we do better. Constructive is the keyword though. lol. You did good, Ive yet to see any of your work that sucked besides the Pats and Jets backgrounds that is. :-P
 
Haha, more DBZ geeks! Why is it so many of us phandroids love DBZ? Oh, if only Gohan didn't go all wimp (I really wanted to use another word). He coulda been the baddest of all.

Hey man, I was wondering were you've been. It's been a while for sure, But don't worry, Dean has really picked up the slack of pestering me in your absence. :D:p;) Actually, things have been pretty slow around here (all over AF, I'd say) lately.

NOT like: http://8.mshcdn.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/05/android-skateboard.jpg for I was hoping of a more "serious" (if thats what to call it) look. maybe our little android fellow(possibly with a backwards flat brim) doing a tre flip over a set of stairs? also, if possible, if you could somehow incorporate alien workshop (skateboard company), maybe use the logo, maybe use a deck from the company, I don't know, I dont want to give too many specifics, for the creativity is up to you! Many thanks!!

oh yeah, and its for an HTC G2

First off, welcome (finally! :p;)) to AF.

OK, so that's going to be a lot of work, and I'm not sure if I can pull off the "serious" android (I'll likely have to try to make it custom, and that's not something I'm great at), but I'll give it a shot. This one might take a few days (hell, I don't even know what a tre flip is! :o) but I'll try to let you know if I think it's going to work out.
