Willing to make wallpapers

Hey - I'm having some trouble figuring out just what size the wallpaper for the Galaxy Note 2 should be. Lots of conflicting info. If you would, could you try out each of the following wallpaper sizes and let me know which works best? TIA.

Don't have my note 2 yet, so can't try it. But these are the specs:
1,280 x 720

Hmmm... Ok. The problem I'm having is that I don't know if the SGN2 uses a scrolling wallpaper (in which case the wallpaper needs to be larger than the screen resolution), or whether it handles wallpapers like a phone or a tablet (there's a big difference.)

What I'll do is post in the SGN2 section, and see if someone there can hopefully help me figure it out. If not, I may have to put this one on hold until you get it.

It's gonna handle wallpapers same as Samsung Galaxy SIII.

See, that's what I would think. Thus, with the same screen resolution as the SGS3, I'd think the SGN2 should use the same wallpaper size of 1440x1280. But, the majority of info I could find recommended 1600x1280 or 1920x1280.

So, I'd rather know which is right to avoid having to re-do the whole thing because I guessed wrong.

The GS3 wallpapers are static/non-scrolling btw (my better half has it)

Thanks NA - Didn't know that the SGS3 didn't scroll. That's very useful to know. I've been assuming it did (and composing wallpapers for it as if it did) because of the wallpaper aspect ratio. Guess it's like your Rezound, in that it needs to be the larger aspect ratio to properly crop it to single screen size. Thought that was mostly an HTC thing... Still probably best to make 'em fill the whole wallpaper since so many users use an alternate launcher that may allow scrolling. I'll just keep in mind that things should pretty much stay centered in a 720px band.

Man! These were a lot easier to do when all Androids used the same 640x480 wallpaper size... :o

So, I've been trying to figure out the best way to replicate the look you want, and I think I've got it. Since this is going to be a fairly long, tedious process, I thought it best to check with you to make sure I'm on the right track. Take a look at this and let me know if that's the look you wanted.

If it is, great - I'll keep at it.

Yes! Loving it

So a rose with stem/leaves. Just want to make sure you can see the stitches well, compared to size of rose.

Thanks

Hmmm... good point about the stitches showing up on a Note sized screen. May have to try to make 'em larger, though I'm not sure it will still look rose-like if I do. I experiment with it some more.

And just to be sure here - you just want a rose and some vines & leaves? No border scroll stuff or hearts etc. like this?

Alright, here you go (finally! :o). Let me know if I got the right look and what you think.

To save at full 1440x1280 resolution - Follow the link bellow and long press the image on your phone until the save option pops up, Then find it in your photo gallery and set as wallpaper. If it looks fuzzy, you may be better off viewing it from a computer, right click and "save as", and finally transferring it to your phone via USB or email.

Thanks!

Is the rose from top to bottom the 1440 dimension?

You're welcome!

The size is 1440 wide by 1280 high, and the rose is somewhat smaller than the height. I think that should look good on the SGN2 - but if when you get the new phone it doesn't, let me know and we'll see what adjustments need to be made. Fair enough?

As I want design to fill majority of screen

Well, the Note2's screen will be 720 wide x 1280 high in portrait view. Some of that height will be taken up by the dock on the bottom and status bar up top. I think the rose will take up a pretty good portion of the screen real estate. Again, if when you get the SGN2 you feel adjustments need to be made, just get back to me and I'll see what can be done.

Edit: For reference, here's a quick mock-up of what it should look like. This leaves a little room at the top for a weather/clock widget or a row of icons. Should look nice, I'd say.

Hi EB! Wanna work your magic for me?
This pic is for the icons I'm using. I'd really like something with a denim background. Nothing fancy, I just can't seem to make it match the icons or even coordinate. I use just one screen non scrolling. (And I'm in no rush)

Well, not very magical, but do you mean something like one of these?
