Root Windows 7 and the Esteem

Ok maybe this is common, but i am on Windows7 64bit. I have removed and reinstalled the LG Drives from their website at least 3 times, on 3 different downloads and my phone is still not recognized in any mode, Internet, USB Mass Storage. The LG Updater keeps telling me to turn the phone on, and it is on. I am completely lost now, as there is no way for me to down grade from the ZVC to ZVB, or to Root or anything else.

Any Input would be greatly appreciated. I am not worried about downgrading or anything, i just need to figure out how in the heck to get my computer to recognize this phone...

Please stupidfy it for me...lol..The easier you make it, the better for me.
 
LOL..Hey PG..Its killing me...I have uninstalled, rebooted...Re-installed from the tools...rebooted...still tells me to connect the device...I got USB Debugging On, and got it set to Internet for the connection by going to settings/connectivity/default connection mode, and it is selected as Internet Connection...I dont know what else to do. So any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. After that it says that there is an error that the device driver is corrupt or missing, so i go and manually update the drive by going into the C: Programfiles(x86) folder and into the USB Drives, then it gives me a error Code 10, this device can not be started....
 
I've never have had problems with drivers on Win7 64bit either. Win XP is a different story tho.

When you download and install them do you have your phone plugged in or are you installing then plugging in?
 
I got it working finally...lol..this was insane in so many ways..I was accidently using the cord from my old ascend, and when i used the LG cord it showed up and worked with no problem...weird

Good deal...cords are universal now..hmm. At least problem solved.
Ready to downgrade now....LOL ;)

yup will be downgrading and rooting...so sick of metro spamware...i mean bloatware..lol..even with task killers you cant kill that stuff....lol..wish root was there for zvc as that is what my phone is, but i will use the very helpful guide to just downgrade to zvb and root and get rid of the bloat...

Really i wish there was an apk type of root for this phone like z4 or gingerbreak..but we cant always get what we want...lol

yes it is, and i am sure if i were more patient i could wait for the zvc solution..but i dont have that kind of patience so i am gonna downgrade and root....

And thank you to all of you developers who have found ways to make root projects, roms, and everything else work, when the phone companies are obviously doing everything to stop you guys.

Its all worth the efforts..downgrade..root...some excellent ROMS and themes available now. Choices are good ! :)

What USB cable are you using? You might be using one that only works for charging. The cable that came with the phone is a USB data cable so be sure you are using that.

Just as I suspected, you were using a charge only cable or the cable was damaged.
