I set up Outlook to sync on my Sister and her husband's EVOs and it works fine. What problems are you experiencing?

Sounds like Intervenient is talking about not being able to sync Microsoft Outlook with the upcoming Windows Mobile 7 phones...

That is totally preposterous! Was all set to winmo all the way about a year ago. Was excited about 7, really glad now that i discovered Android back in may now.....

I got Google Calenders working, but it's not the same as Outlook for me. I really dig what Windows is doing with Phone 7 but some of these moves are downright unintelligent. Hopefully the Zune 5.0 software will support Outlook sync.

I just want a unified core experience and being able to choose my hardware. Don't **** that up Windows, come on.

Where did you hear this?

If this is true, WP7 is a massive FAIL!!

If I'm reading the OP's linked supporting article on XDA correctly

How to Sync Windows Phone 7 with Outlook

It does still sync with Exchange ActiveSync. So you can still sync your phone over the cloud so long as your companies Exchange server is accessible via the Internet and set up properly for this feature. The issue that I'm seeing in the article is that you can no longer sync email/contacts/calendar via USB using a PC sync client. The desktop sync client will only sync music/videos/etc.

I'd rather reskin my Evo to have the Windows Phone 7 similar interface, without cutting all the functionality out FOR a Windows 7 Phone.

WOW. This is one thing Blackberry users mention when they list cons of Android phones.

A Win Mo phone that CANT do that? Dont MS realize that syncing by USB is a wanted feature to some ppl? Amazing...

No surprise here MS does not listen to it's customers. I used to be very pro winMO but the at the time 6.1 was buggy as all get out. 6.5 was promised and never delivered and when I heard that winmo 7 was coming I knew it was at least a year out...this was in 2008.

What I see happing is MS paying carriers to sell their phones...kinda like what they did with BING. MS is not inovative, MS is not intuitive and MS does not keep up with shifts in the market.

+1

I ran windows mobile since the 2.x days, back then a lot of fields would sync I was even looking at syncing additional fields I added. Then with newer versions they started dropping more and more fields and features, it kept slimming down to do less and less.

windows phone? What's that. Is that a phone that you want to throw through the windows? ;)
