Root Wipe all

That isn't good enough. Use ccleaner on the SD card. Format it, and then fill with 0's. Then unbrick guide. Better than factory reset.

This. A modern day "format" just wipes the file table. The files stay in place, but with an empty table, the device can't find the stored data anymore through its conventional means. Your "formated" drive will hold all its original data until the device writes over it when it thinks the sectors are empty due to the deleted file table.

This 'can', not 'will', cause issues, as well as presenting the obvious that if you "deleted" something you don't want seen, that it's actually still there. Plenty of software on the market can bypass the file table and scan a storage media for bits. Since files are standardized, the program can easily recognize a string of bits as the file it was before.

Writing out zeros to the complete storage medium (takes about 6 to 8 passes on magnetic storage medium) is the ONLY way to "format" a drive to an empty state. That, or a big hammer. :)
