Wired Tether on 2.2?

@Jaime2563....I have an email with a solution to this and now I see your post was erased "Reason:error"???? Is HTC Sync not a valid solution for this?

When I plug my phone into the cradlepoint and select 'Internet Sharing' instead of charge only and so on it gives error 67....if I were to root are there ways around that?

There's this*, which worked great on my MT3G but has been problematic on the Evo while on 2.1. Haven't yet tested it under 2.2, but I've read that it only works with Netarchy's custom kernel, not the stock one, so you'd have to flash that, too.

While that's the main source, you'd actually need to download this file. But then, you haven't rooted yet. :)

I called Sprint and they said that usb tethering was never supposed to work. 2.2 corrected the glitch that HTC had allowed. Was usb tethering not a free advertised feature?

has anyone got it working yet on 2.2?

also i am rooted so if there is an app please i need it

I too lost my EVO tethering when I applied the 2.2 update. I saw all the discussions and thought perhaps Sprint has been contacted and might have a switch to flip or a patch to apply or something.

The Customer Service Rep was not really clear, he asked somebody he works with, they told him they are using PDAnet, so he told me to do it and he would note the database of my issue.

I installed PDAnet and it is working. But, it may be psychological, but it seems a lot slower, like maybe PDAnet is being forced through 3G? I don't know, is that a possibility. 4G is working while PDAnet is operational, it just seems 1/2 speed.

I am rooted with netarchy's froyoized kernel and can verify that the above works. wired tether and wifi tether both work. nothing else is busted. There's an apparent 3mpx cap on the stock camera app, but pics still get saved as 8mpx.

It also worked fine for me on 2.1. I was using netarchy's 2.1 custom kernel at the time.
