Help **wireless charging questions in here please**

I guess I will know first hand come Christmas. I told the wife that I might not want the pad for I had concerns. She said tough lol. It's wrapped under the tree so deal with it lol. After some query it seems I will have to purchase the battery door myself. I hope I like it. :) Thanks for the link.

Feel free to ask Mark in the comments anything specific you might wanna know :). Am hoping to score one myself soon!

My only concern now is the feel of that battery door. I don't know how anyone can answer that but me. I was afraid the Rz was going to be too thick to be comfortable yet it feels great. Another 1/8 inch can't be a killer. But I'll only know when I get hands on. They don't have any doors available in Ks. so I'll be ordering it.. then testing it.

I received the inductive door & the mat from Verizon today it works perfectly.
Verizon version of the mat.
The problem now is finding a soft rubber protective case that fits it as the door is a bit bigger, and my old case wont fit correctly. As of now I cant find one and that just might be a deal breaker if I cant find a good one. I'm in talks with a manufacture diztronic that might have them on Monday- they are meant for the door with the bigger battery but it might just fit- I hope!
time will tell.

I run naked with my Rz so case is a non factor. If you come up with a quality case you might want to drop a link in here for others if you would.

How big is the charging pad? Only one phone at a time, or can it handle 2?

I'm really on the fence on this technology. I like the idea, but I'm not sure I'm willing to pay that much for it, and not have as good selection of premium cases... Hopefully the fact that the extended battery cover and the wireless cover use the same cases will encourage Seidio to make a case to fit them both.

If my wife and I could both drop our phones on the same pad, that would be handy, but I'm not sure we're willing to spend the $$ on 2 new rear covers in addition to the charging pad.

Why is cost such an issue on this, when my frickin toothbrush does this for free already, and has for several years?

I bought the back and mat/pad from the Verizon store. I also bought an extended battery (and the back that came with it). I thought that I'd be able to handle the increased thickness of either the wireless charging back or the extended battery, but I could not. I often carry my phone "naked" in my pant pocket, and I got spoiled with the slimness of the stock back. I returned the wireless charging back, mat, and extended battery and instead bought a second regular battery to carry with me when I'm on trips when I may be away from a charging source. That's my perspective on the wireless charging.

And to answer a question: the Verizon charging pad (LG?) is only large enough for one phone.

I have a 3 position Powermat for sale. It just has the mat and the a/c plug wire. I really do not want to invest in the phone cover and case. $25 shipped in the USA. First post wanting it gets it.

Sure, what the heck. At that price I might give it a try.

I seem to be collecting accessories... My next HTC better have the same GD form factor as our two Rezounds!

Out of curiosity... is the wireless charging extension the same size as the extended battery cover? The size of the extended battery is a little too much for me... something a little less would be nice.

Was my understanding that the powermat didn't work on our phones?????

Think they are the same size, if I ever get my hands on one I will let you know. I already have the extended

The google-verse seems split on it, actually. I found a post on XDA_devs in which a gentleman says his power mat works on his rezound. Other folks say it doesn't, but they seem to be speaking from rumor.

I'm trying to confirm with the guy who claimed to be speaking from personal experience. In any case, a one-place verizon charge pad is a non-starter for me. I'm sure not going to pay full price for a 3-position charger, so I figure I'll give SuperChaos' power-mat a try and see if it works. Return the back to VZW within a week if it doesn't. <shrug> I'll let y'all know what I find out!

I ordered my inductive back from Vz yesterday. It's the same price I could find it elsewhere except the shipping is free. Just looking at the pics of the inductive back compared to the extended batter back.. I think (hope) the inductive is less in depth.

How is the extended battery door for feel Night?

We still need to find a cover for the inductive door-going without one is crazy on such a $$$ phone. I may have a lead on one if the supplier gets it in on Monday as promised. I will report back when i get it and if it fits, it's meant for the bigger battery door.

Well, I'm not Night, but I'll chime in since he's blowing you off. :p

I actually like the extended back a little better- It fills the hand nicely, and has enough curve to it you can actually scrunch it up on your shoulder like a regular handset in a pinch. Without it, it really feels exactly like you would expect an enlarged Incredible to feel. Which isn't bad, just... Flat in back.

I'd love to know if Seidio is developing their Convert combo for the extended case- That would really cover all the options nicely.

I decided to try and see if the phone would charge with the home charger with the the inductive cover on as someone said it would not -well I am happy to report it does -as it should. Now just to find a protective cover for the charging cover that cover the whole phone except the front, not the one on the net that leaves the back open.

I received my wireless battery door today. I was pleased that the added thickness was a "no biggie" deal to me. It is thicker than the original but if anything, it adds a bit of a ledge for the finger... especially for the right handed user. I am a bit concerned about the lack of metal inside the cover compared to the original. So far I have not been on the cusp of service so I don't know if my reception has been degraded. I do know that metal on the original was not for decoration so... I'm concerned.

As for charging... I'll have to wait until Christmas when the charging plate is unwrapped to evaluate.

Loving it. I did pit the stock in today though and I forgot how sleek and sexy she is, lol.

Extended does seem like it fits in hand better

I use the standard verizon case on my extended battery door. I cut out the back of the case in the area where the battery is thicker. It still has full prtection on all corners and edges. This was a set up I used on my Incredible for 18 months. and doesn't look all that bad. I will post some pictures when I get a chance.

I thought I might give a brief summary of the wireless charger now that I have the pad and back. Both are Verizon originals and charges just fine. I can't judge the speed of charging for I just toss it on the pad when I go to bed. The pad emits an audible letting you know it's charging as well as flashes a green indicator. I'm very pleased with the ease of just sitting on the pad to charge vs plugging in the usb cable. However, my original thought was to bump charge the phone when I got home from work. This works but the wireless back is very flat so that mates with the pad for inductive purposes. This almost eliminates sound notifications from the phone while on the pad. The only good thing is... I don't need to bump charge my Rezound when I get home from work. :)

the inductive door is a tad smaller that the extended battery door in thickness. I took a Diztronic case from Amazon, meant for the extended battery door and cut an 1/8 slit out of it 3/4 of the way around so the back rubber flap rests tightly across the inductive cover back and found some black silicone and filled in the slit I cut out of it. it works perfectly on the Verizon mat with a cover to protect the back, not like the cases you can buy for now that just cut out the back of a normal case. Why would anybody want that as it does not protect the entire phone ?

Many of you commented on getting mats for xmas, maybe too busy using the product to update how it's working?

Specifically anyone using a Powermat 3x pad with the HTC inductive option?

Need to know if I should a) return my powermat or b) be looking at a different phone that;ll work with the powermat.

thanks in advance!

I watched wireflys unboxing and he stated it is wireless charging ready. I thought the runs in the case were for the antenna. Is this correct? I've read here that its not "ready" but something else. I'd like to just buy a power mat to rest this thing on and let it charge.

Edit: well, crap. Was going to Google it first. How is it ready then?

Edit #2: I searched here prior, i swear! I just can't get anything right on the rezound forums! Forgive me.
