I am seeking the charger pad spec, output voltage and Max current (amps). How long to charge? The Samsung AC adapter is 5.3V @ 2A so how does it compare to the charging pad? Thanks guys!

I strongly recommend looking around before settling on a QI charging pad,especially if you're going to purchase only one.

I'm all for the wireless charging option.Although the charge rate is approximately 1/2 (twice as long to charge) of the standard A/C method,the long battery life makes using the QI charging a viable option,just set it down @ the end of the day & by morning,you're good to go.
You have two basic options,the OEM optional QI-enabled battery cover:
Galaxy Note 3 Wireless Charging Cover, Black
Or,this,which will still allow for use of aftermarket phone cases:
Qi Internal Wireless Charging Adapter for Samsung Galaxy Note 3
After that choice has been made,choose any QI charging station & you're good to go.
BTW,as for charging rates from different models stations,thet're all about the same,from my experience.

I was trying to decide whether I should get the oem pad and will if it puts out more juice than the pad I already have. That's why I am after the output spec of the Samsung pad.

I've got the TYLT/ENERGIZER/ & 10K mAh portable charger,awaiting delivery of the JBL/FATBOY/POWERBOT models.
I haven't used the A/C110v charger(s) since getting the QI chargers,'bout ready to put them away.
I can't say one way or the other if the OEM pad will result in a faster charge,but,if I had to guess,I'd say no (all mine charge @ the same rate),& stick w/what you already have or,look around for something that's more useful/ergonomic/etc. & save money to boot.

It's just a total pain trying to hook up a USB 3 charging cable to the phone next to my bed at night in the dark. Wireless charging would be a no-brainer in that scenario.
So I wait... and will happily review the setup when I have it

I'm not likely to trust any of the receiver card inserts without Samsung's blessing so I am looking at the cover and existing Qi pad to start.

Just a BTW w/the above set-up:
Not too many cases are gonna fit the OEM QI-ENABLED Cover, due to the added thickness
I was about to pull the trigger on a Samsung charging dock/cradle, but then came across this wireless charging battery cover on Samsung's accessory site.
The problem is, I don't see a charger specifically listed for the Note 3. Or does it use the same generic charger for the Galaxy S4 and other Samsung models? Is this solution just a bunch of hype or worth it (and is the Samsung-branded setup as good as 3rd party aftermarket offerings for wireless charging)?

here is a sample of what can be found on ebay or amazon , in this example. you will find it far cheaper than what is available from samsung. the receiver fits under the stock cover, thus you could fit a normal case on the p[hone if you chose too.Amazon.com: Qi Standard Wireless charging pad with Receiver for SAMSUNG Galaxy Note III: Cell Phones & Accessories

Personally don't understand the hoopla of wireless charging either. It takes me less than 5 seconds to plug in my phone and even less to unplug it when it's at full charge. I guess the 1 advantage of wireless charging is not having so many cables running amok but then again, the charging dock has a cable you have to plug in so I guess it's a wash huh??

There are a couple of models that are portable/chargeable & do not necessarily have to be plugged-in for use.

I spent so much time using my phone while plugged that I want to try wireless. Just bury me with my device and send the wire up to the grave stone into a solar charger! LOL

I have found there is one good place for a wireless charger. My nightstand. I was always constantly having to digg behind the nightstand when my charging cable fell behind it. Now with the pad, I don't have to worry about that. Plus since it's sitting there all night, the reduced charge rate doesn't matter. But if you tend to use your phone while you charge it, a wireless charging pad isn't going to work be well.
Is the charging pad above better than the Nokia DT-900 here?

There aren't many reviews for the Docooler combo, but tons for the Nokia model (which apparently is unofficially compatible with Galaxy devices with the right battery coil receiver).

I'm sure this discussion would be better suited with the bigger wireless charging thread that was already started, as many of the answers to the OP's question had an already great discussion going on. For me personally, just to re-iterate my intrigue by wireless charging, there are 3 reasons I've found wireless charging to be something that would add convenience to my life:
1) Use at work
- At work, I have a lot of extra charging options, but I don't necessarily need to charge the phone with a connected wire. The "slower" charging rates, using qi wireless charging, allows me to place my phone down while working and pick it up freely when a message comes through and I want to check it. Having to contiually plug the charger back in and out would be a pain for that purpose.
2) Use at home
- At night, I'm always a little hesitant to leave the phone plugged in. Since the wireless charger is a slower rate, I can leave it on the charging pad over night, wake up to my alarm and grab my phone to turn the alarm off, without worrying about the chord getting in the way.
3) In the car
- I just purchased a Qi Wireless charging car dock. Just to give a back story, I've been used to having a "dock and go" car dock, since my days with the EVO, where I could plug my phone in and just start driving. The dock I had for my EVO and my Motorola Photon were "dock and go" setups, so I never needed to plug in the charger. That said, Samsung stopped creating those types of car docks last year, which meant my needing to find a dock that might provide a "similar" experience. I purchased a Kidigi car mount (which I'm also currently using for the Note 3). While I like the mount a lot and it serves its purpose, it's still somewhat of a pain placing the microUSB charger into the socket, whenever I feel I need to keep the phone charged. It wasn't an issue with the Note 2, simply because of the 3100mah battery. Same goes for the Note 3. That said, now that I have a Qi wireless charging car dock, it allows for a "dock and go" experience. Unfortunately, the dock shipped so quickly that I haven't even received my Qi receiver pad yet, to test out the wireless charging.

It's for this reason that I'm considering getting the Tylt for home use. I have a desk clock app that is a little customizable and just shows the time, but I haven't used it in a while because I hated having the phone plugged in, while using it. With something like the Tylt, I wouldn't have to worry.
I notice this one (above) has 600 mA output, whereas the one below is 1000 mA. Other than faster charging, is the less powerful one better for long-term overnight charges (or all-day top-offs at one's desk)?
I pulled the trigger on the Docooler charging coil, even with zero reviews on Amazon. But hey, it's only $12, I can bet that. My charging pad is a Tylt Vu charger, which is also a stylish stand.
I use the Tylt now just as a stand until the coil comes in... I can hardly wait, since plugging this thing in at night is pure guesswork (hey, it's dark!). A wireless charging setup will be invaluable to me on my nightstand.
EDIT: It's 10/31, just got the shipping notification on my Docooler coil. It should be a matter of days and I will have it in hand and charging (hopefully)

Wrong! That means that I have to finish what I'm doing on the phone, get out of bed, turn the lights on, plug in my phone, turn the lights off, and then get back in bed. Ain't happening. I know, First World issue big time
