Hello all,
I just recently picked up the Nexus S 4g and am trying to use it with my home wireless G/N router. My laptop can conect to either one, but I cannot find the N-signal with my Nexus S 4g. Anyone else having this issue and if so can it be resolved?
Your g and n should be the same signal since both are 2.4 ghz. Unless you are talking about a dual band router where there is both a 2.4 ghz signal and a 5 ghz signal. In that case the phone does not connect to a 5 ghz signal, which I believe is wireless a. I have a similar router and my phone does not connect to the 5 ghz signal.
I have moved this to the Nexus S 4G forum so someone can better help you here. I personally haven't had an issue connecting to my wireless N router at home with my Nexus S. But i don't have the Sprint version so i can't be of much help. Hopefully your question will be answered here.

Thank you for your prompt response, however, at the risk of asking a silly question, why does my laptop see both signals and allow me to choose between the two (as does my tablet, Xoom) and the Nexus S 4g does not?

In answer to your post, The Nexus S 4G does not support wireless N at the 5ghz spectrum. However the Nexus s 4G will connect to a wireless network on the 2.4ghz spectrum. As a simple test if your router is indeed a dual band router simply create a guest network on the 5ghz band and then see if your handset will connect to it.
The other devices that you mentioned may indeed be able to see and connect onto a 5ghz wireless network. Most modern laptops have this ability.
