Root Wireless Tether not working - Help

I have an EVO 4g that was rooted with Unrevoked about six months ago. I have Wireless Tether installed that worked just fine until recently Not exactly sure when it quit as I hadn't used it for about 6 weeks. Now when I try to tether it gives all appearances of connecting but I am unable to get anything from the net.

I have tried on a Mac Air, Mac Pro and Samsung 10.1. All indicate connected but nothing. So I have tried going to an older version of the App and the new experimental version all with the same results. I saw someones suggestion to create a folder for the app, install it there; did not work for me.

I am at a loss of where to go next for a fix. Anyone else having this problem? Have any suggestions for a fix?
 
I have never had any problems with this app. Are you using the one by (MULLER, LEMONS, and BUXTON) from the market? Have you tried uninstalling the app and redownloading it again. Do you have the access control on or off? Have you tried to wipe your cache and dalvik, and what rom are you using.
 
I have tried removing & downloading numerous times and versions. I have not wiped the cache or dalvik but will try it. Not sure about access control but I would think that it is on as it used to work. I just rooted with unrevoked didn't do any other roms.

One thing I thought of today last week I bought my wife a new phone. My phone was the one due for exchange so they flip flopped the numbers. I had to to update my profile but haven't done any other updates? I wouldn't think that would screw things up?

I'll clear the cache & dalvik and look for the access control. Thanks!
 
Ok, I cleared the cache, dalvik and verified that the access control was on. Just about the same result; from my Macbook Pro I was able to connect and had some vey slow upload but no download? It always says that it is connected to whatever I try just doesn't get anything.
 
What rom are you using? I had trouble with a rom using the wireless tether app, but it was because CM7 has the built-in wifi tether.

Are there any other wifi networks around? Maybe you are using the same channels and getting some weird feedback?

You could always try a different rom (nandroid this one so you can go back to it if that doesn't work).

Before trying a different version, completely delete the current (nonworking) version from your phone before installing the new one. If you need help in downloading and installing an app onto your phone that is not found on the market, please see below.
 
I have clockworkmod on my phone. I haven't used any other ROMS since rooting with unrevoked.

I currently have version 2.0.7apk but have tried the 2.0.5-pre9 and even their latest experimental version. I did remove prior to installing. I do have another wireless in the house. It used to work just fine here and everywhere? Just quit sometime in the last month.

I did have to have to Update my phones Profile when I bought a new phone for my wife. I know that once rooted you shouldn't update but I thought that was just for System Updates. The phone is definitely still rooted so I would hope that updateing the profile would not cause this?

No I haven't tried that but not sure what that would do for me? Tethering isn't working on the phone 3G network. I thought that I had a fix today since I was out and could call but did not have data on the phone. I called Sprint and they reset something in the office that returned data but still no tether when I tried it. It did show that it was connected. Frustrating!

It might be worth trying to remove and reinstall the program again?
