Root wireless tether wont wrk!!!!! Help

Ok i have the evo all i wanna do is have the wireless tether wrk ive downloaded many paks but not sucess it can connect to pc but says peer to peer not as wifi plz help me

You need to be rooted to use Wireless Tether. Without root, you can tether via usb with PDAnet from the Market.

You dont need to download anything. Its on the phone, you have to activate it with Sprint and pay 30 bucks.

Three options
1) pay Sprint $30 a month to enable hot spot feature

2) you can download either PDAnet or easytether off the Android market, these allow you to tether through usb

3) root your phone and download a ROM that allows hotspot feature.

Phone is rooted but how do i get the wireless tether stop sayn peer to peer n et me online everyhing was fine till i update my software to 3.29.651

is it possible that you lost root when updating? how did you update?

Are you running a Custom rom? If so check in the rom thread there should be a fix there somewhere

i used the super sonic rooted update used from dis website How to install new update (3.29.651.5) on your rooted HTC EVO 4G no custom rom or anything just the basic stuff i guess

In order to get the wifi tether to work the settings for security have to be on WPA. I don't know how I did it but it works once those changes have been made.

I'm using the pre9 apk and i don't have to use WPA if i choose not to, mine's completely functional.

obviously this topic is big. i am new to the whole rooting situation. i have an evo 4g an rooted using unrevoked. i have tried two different apps, barnacle and wireless tether. my computer recognizes the wireless tether app, not barnacle (don't know why, what's the difference?) however it will not connect. it says no connectivity. any suggestions?
