I have a Rezound and I really love the look and feel and performance of the phone but my Mobile HotSpot is awful. I pay for the service and it drops all the time.

This would be my second Rezound for the same reason. I am considering trying a different phone but I'm not really a fan of any other 4G except the Razr or the new Galaxy.

What do you guys think? Trade or keep? Also, for those that have rooted, do you know of any rooted apps that you can recommend for wifi hotspot?

I don't mind paying for mobile hotspot and using another app to achieve better results. My goal in the end is better results.

Thanks!

I can't really comment on the Galaxy but my experience with the Razr is about the same to a little worse than the Rezound. When in a strong 4G area both work great and never really drop out but in a weak 4G area both will lose signal and eat up a ton of battery trying to reconnect. Upside to the Razr Maxx is the battery life is heads and shoulders above every other phone out right now. The overall experience I've had is that the Rezound is a better quality build and the hardware pretty much trounces the Razr.

Thanks. I was talked into keeping it from a Verizon store manager. He said that all the 4G phones are dropping the signal due to modifications being made for a iPhone 4G launch some time in the 3rd quarter of this year.

I do not know if I would trust that answer, not saying tit is not true but others have also been having similar connection issues all over. I myself have gone through 4 Rezounds and a Razr Maxx before they got me a Rezound that works without issue. If you continue to have issues with data connections I would keep asking for a replacement till you get one that works without issue.

Absolutely and incorrectly false information. No Verizon employee will not give out any hints or information about new devices unless they are officially announced. The fact that he even mentioned an iPhone 4G model makes him lose any credibility. He's just giving you some sales pitch to make you not return the device. Take it back to him and ask for a different device.

I get this drop in signal, and my friend with a Thunderbolt gets it too, so I do think it may be a network issue, and not necessarily a phone issue. It might be location specific too, so not everyone sees it.

I've been dropping some to 3g as well on occasion here recently. Not too often though. Its always in places I normally have full 4g signal too.
