Root Wont load OS.

My phone will not load to the OS. When i reboot it just goes too the bootloader. I've tried almost everything. My phone is rooted. Like an idiot I rooted my phone without backing up the system. I backed up the sd card on my laptop but it doesnt seem too help. I've undone everything except turn S-ON.

The phone will keep going too the bootloader screen. I need Immediate help.

Any Ideas?

welcome to the forums!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
i moved you to the rooting section
do you have access to recovery? if so what recovery do you have? also try and wipe dalvik cache and cache and reboot.

also what happened prior to this? what were you doing to get to this state?

If you can still get into recovery we should have no problems getting you up and running in no time. If you cant get into recovery things get a bit trickier. We can provide you with the recovery link but it doesnt always work for everyone.

Welcome to our friendly forums :D

As asked before, do you have access to your Recovery? If so, this shouldn't be a problem.

To access Recovery, boot phone into HBOOT (this can be done by powering on phone by holding the down volume button and the power button at the same time) once here, cycle through the options to "Recovery". The phone will now reboot and go into your Recovery.

If you do not have a Recovery, you can download one and put it on your SD card and flash it through the HBOOT. To do so, click the link on my signature to take you to the XDA link where you can download one of 3 different Recoveries for the Evo 4G. I highly recommend the Amon-Ra Recovery. To add this .zip file to your phone, you will need to connect your SD card to your computer through some type of USB or something. Once it is opened in the computer, drag and drop the .zip file containing the Recovery into your SD card. Now rename that file exactly like this but without the quotations "PC36IMG". (on some computers, you may need to name it "PC36IMG.zip") Now put the SD card in your phone and boot up into HBOOT again. The HBOOT will now automatically notice the PC36IMG file and begin to flash it. After installation, you have a Recovery!

Now what it sounds like is that you don't have an OS anymore. Not a problem. Just head back to that link below my signature again and find yourself a nice little ROM of your choosing. Like I mentioned before with the Recovery, download one of these to your computer and put it onto your SD card except this time, do not name it "PC36IMG". I would also recommend renaming the other file that contains your Recovery just so that it doesn't try to install everytime that you go back into HBOOT. Once the .zip containing your ROM is on the SD card, reboot the phone into HBOOT. Now go into Recovery.

Once in Recovery, there will be many options. Use "wipe" to wipe everything from your phone except do not delete anything from the SD card. Now cycle through the options to find the option to install a .zip file to your phone. Once you have found this, go through your SD card and find the file that you put there containing your ROM and then let it install.

Once it is done, you can now reboot your phone. It may take 15-30 minutes to come to the home screen at the most. Any longer than this, and you probably have a problem and should redo some of the steps above. Once it gets to your homescreen, presto!...you have an OS again...I learned this when I did this one time lol Good luck!
