Help Won't switch on

My Galaxy Nexus just arrived, and I've plugged it in. I tried to switch it on, and it showed a battery symbol and I haven't heard from it since. The screen is blank, and there is zero response to holding the power button. I removed a tiny transparent plastic tab that looked like part of the packaging that I found stuck in the side near the power button, could removing that have somehow caused it? I'm really concerned that it might be dead. It has only been charging for about fifteen minutes, mind you, but all the phones I've had in the past have been able to switch on by now.

So if you are tapping the power button, you get no battery symbol, or anything else? Have you done a battery pull?

Yep, tapping the power button gives me nothing. A battery pull? I've tried removing the battery and putting it back in, yeah. Will the screen just not turn on until the battery is at a certain level? I get the feeling that the battery was shipped near flat.

Edit: Nevermind! IT'S ALIVE!! YEAAAHHH!!! ^_^
