Words with friends

No, the iPhone version is the same as the Android versions (double tap to zoom).

well, in the iphone version you could pinch in and it would zoom all the way in as if you double tapped. There isn't different zoom levels for either of the versions

Is there way to save contacts? I typed in a friend's contact and it immediately started the game. What if I want to play that person again way in the future? I have to somehow remember their ID?

Hi Lex, first of all, thank you for returning to Smallville. Secondly, the way it worked on the iPhone was that if the person's email address is in your address book, all you had to do was type their name as listed in the contacts list and it would pull up their screenname.

Haven't tried that yet with the Droid version, just because I had WWF before and have all of my old games saved. You can go back into any finished game and click on re-match to start a new game with that person... (you can also play more than one game with that person as well, I currently have 3 games going with one person.)

Next awesome gameI shall be on the lookout for... Chess with Friends.

Game constantly runs in the background and uses a lot of memory even when not open...sigh

It's not running, it's just in memory, very different.

Don't worry and let android just manage the memory. If it needs the memory that this it's using, it'll free it up on it's own.

I wish it had audio and vibrate notification.

And the ability to turn off the sounds. I feel like I'm in a swimming pool everytime I play with the sound on.

Wouldn't affect battery life? My battery (Seido "1750") life has taken a swan dive off the empire state building since the new google maps came out (also always in memory when I use system). It goes from 100% to 70% within a half an hour some days. I'm going crazy stopping these programs, argh

If it isn't killing my battery, I shall keep the program to school my iphone friends

Thanks everyone who was letting me know it was out. I downloaded it this morning. Found out from twitter. Rjmnyg is username if anyone wants to play

I have a HTC HERO and cannot find Words with Friends on the Market. A friend of mine sent me a link to download it, but it says: "There are no android phones associated with this account. Please sign in with a different account."

I feel like an idiot, but I cannot get this game!! :(

just downloaded on Galaxy S.
a tad too laggy for my liking and it restarted my phone a couple of times, when i select an on-going game.

Apart from the prettier UI, this is no better than Wordfeud in any way. I feel that Wordfeud has better features at the moment.

^ The thing that makes WWF better than others is that people can play with their friends with CrApple iPhones.
This is basically what it is.

I like Wordfued more, but most of my friends play WwF on their iPhones and iPods.

Can't mute sfx.
No real notification system.
Laggy.
Force closes.
No friends list?

I think notifications will b in the paid version
I'm getting notifications off and on. Maybe it's just a bug that needs to be worked out in an update. After all this is version 1 for us. [Captivate]

I haven't gotten this yet, but I've only been playing off and on.

CrApple iPhones.

Turn the volume down when on game board

I acutally think it work better than it did on the iPhone

Haven't got this yet.

Like I said, as long as you don't delete a closed game with a certain player, you can go back in and start a new game with that person. It's a work around, but it works.
- Phone is on silent and the sound still plays. When turning down volume on gameboard, it just changes ringer volume.
- Wasn't comparing to iPhone... was comparing to Wordfeud.
- I'm on the EVO and experienced a few FCs.

I understand that this is the first release, so hopefully they work out the kinks.

The game plays using the Media Volume, so keeping the phone on silent isn't going to do anything.

And I just double checked right now, when you're in the game menu, you're adjusting the ringer volume. When you click on a game and go to the game board, you should be adjusting the Media Volume instead.

Good catch.

Still should be able to mute the SFX without muting the entire phone, say if I'm listening to music while playing.

wordfeud has better features but WWF isn't bad and has promise being its only release #1 for android

does anyone else have missing contacts when viewing it through WWF? Only some of my contacts appear, even if I have an email saved under that contact.

features from WF that I miss:
-shuffle (not shake-shuffle....an actual button is needed)
-ability to place letters on a board and save it there until the other player moves
-friends list
